the whole point of it wasn't the kills though, the reason it was so scary is the awful atmosphere of dread throughout the whole book and that stephen king was phenomenally good at describing that kind of childish baseless fear that you have no control over

not some clown coming running out of muddy water

Yeah IT kept me up for loving weeks when I first saw it. The killing was secondary to the absolutely terrifying atmosphere that was created down in the sewers etc. Now i need to to rewatch IT. Do they have it on Amazon video?

I love my paperwhite, and I even still have my 3G...though I'll probably sell it since I use it mostly as a coaster. Books are usually cheaper electronically, I used to store relevant pubs in pdf format for quick (unofficial) reference, and it made bringing reading material on deployments/TDY a hell of a lot easier.

this is what gets me, it takes a long time for the ereader to pay for itself since there isn't much difference in price between electronic copy and paperback.

i work at sea and an ereader is like the best thing for me to take away because i have a limited baggage allowance and books are heavy as poo poo and i'm usually away for months at a time

it's a pretty specific niche lol

For most people in the mil the difference is storage space and lack thereof. When i went on deployment i carried basically an entire bookstore on my 3rd gen kindle and then my paperwhite when those came out. Once they hosed the fire up i just downloaded the Kindle app to my tablet and use that now.

I really wish I had the chops for real math because a lot of math heavy topics fascinate me- Cryptography, Cryptanalysis, Rocket Science etc.

Sadly I'm really bad at math, so I'm def a guy on the outside looking in with a ton of technical subjects.
