Technically, the ancient armor's set bonus is stronger (and the effect stacks with Attack Up food/elixirs, whereas the barbarian set does not).

I do wish the Diamond Circlet counted for the ancient set bonus, though.

Hammer chat. While it does involve a sidequest chain to exist in the first place? Tarry town has like a billion hammers. Great for when you are going on mining binges and break the ones you got from outside of your own house.

Also, the little stairway nook near the front entrance inside Gerudo town (in front of the sand seal pen) has a respawning hammer, and gerudo scimitar.

For some possible incentive to get all of it, the set bonus to the Rito gear is immunity to being frozen solid.

Though you only need two pieces of any cold resist gear to manage weather. Head items may cost more, but the separate snow boots don't... actually offer any cold resistance which is :wtc:

It's almost gannon time, so I have a couple of questions.

1. Is there a quest that will give me a hint to find the shrine?

And 2. Should I take ancient arrows for the boss battle, or do I only need them against guardians?

Honestly, just play the game and don't worry about rupees. Soon you'll have more than you can spend.

Money is hard to acquire unless you know how to get it. In the early game I ended up hunting animals for raw prime meats and gourmet meats. Cooked 5x prime meats into meat skewers which sell for 210 rupees a pop. 5x gourmet meats = 490 rupees.

Selling gems seems good at first but certain armour upgrades require alot of gems to 4 star, so I started hoarding.

For a while I sold 4x liz tail spicey/chilly elixirs for 310 rupees a pop, but I found the tails were...uneconomical. I felt like I was trashing alot of weapons for alot less money compared to hunting. Hunting is even better if you don't have to buy arrows. There is a way to get like 50 free arrows per minute (mark an area on your map which has 5 or 6 Bokoblin riders, run into the middle of the pack and point the camera directly at the ground. They will never hit you. Every minute or so, spam A to pick up the arrows piling up at your feet.)

And then theres bowling which at something absurd like 300 rupees per minute becomes an infinite wellspring of cash, which you tap whenever you want to buy something. Cost and time spent bowling become interchangeable terms. Ancient armour set costs 6000 rupees? Gosh thats alot. Thats like 20 minutes of bowling. The trick to getting a strike 95% of the time is to approach Pondo directly from behind (not at an angle), stop about 3/4s of Link's height behind him, target lock and then orient the camera so you can see both of Pondo's legs between Link's legs. Throw the snowball over Pondo's head.

Bowling does kinda wreck the value of things in this game. I don't do it anymore, although the reason for that is more to do with becoming allergic to snow puns and being called kiddums. And the festive music loop. That can gently caress off too.

Where's the guide for this?

The guide I found on reddit was wrong and out of date so here's an updated guide. Hopefully someone bookmarks this because the information is scattered

There are 3 requirements for making amiibos that you can use on your Switch/Wii U/3DS:
  • Android phone with NFC writing capability.
  • Ntag215 tags - these are little stickers or cards that have a specific type of nfc chip in them that you can buy for really cheap.
  • The TagMo app for Android and .bin files of the Amiibo you want to put on your tag. You'll have to find the Amiibo files on your own.
Okay, so you got your tags and phone with NFC writing, now what?
  • On your Android device go to Settings > Security > Unknown Sources (turn on). This makes it so that you can install apps that aren't on the Google Play store.
  • Install the TagMo.apk file on your Android device. The fixed version was a bitch to find: https://github.com/possi/TagMo/releases
  • Amiibo Key files - unfixed-info.bin and locked-secret.bin Edit: Sorry, I deleted these links because I'm pretty sure they're :filez:
  • Place unfixed-info.bin, locked-secret.bin, and Amiibo dump files on your Android device.
  • Launch TagMo app, touch the 3 dots in the upper right corner > Load key(s) file… and select the unfixed-info.bin and locked-secret.bin files. You probably will need to download OI File Manager from the play store to find the files.
  • Touch the LOAD TAG button and select your Amiibo .bin dump file.
  • Touch the WRITE TAG (AUTO) button and press your NTAG215 NFC tag to your Android device.
Notes
  • The tags won't be re-writable and if you mess up the tag is dead so experiment with one first.
  • I became too excited when I got this working and ended up making some useless ones and confused smash link with OoT link so make sure you know which ones you want to make before you start: http://imgur.com/a/QWNvr#cvA9R8j

The Champion's Tunic is really great. It has the highest defense of any piece of armor, looks cool, and lets you see enemy HP. Being able to see enemy HP has a side bonus, too: it also lets you see enemies from farther away (or enemies who are hidden) because their HP meters show up even when you don't target them.

Mostly I wear it because I like the way it looks, but the HP display is really nice, too. It's my default chest armor when I'm not wearing the stealth or climbing sets.

Do one critter needed to actually qualify as an ingredient, and then stack the monster part. Values can vary wildly even for the more "expensive" stuff. Even parts from the same monster can vary quite a bit. Like 210 or whatever for stacking Hinox toenails vs 400(?) for Hinox teeth.

You're not exactly going to be making thousands of dollars per elixir (Unless stacked dragon ingredients do that? I haven't made anything out of Lynels or dragons yet :downs:). But, especially once you are not using them for anything else, it's a good way to get some quick cash injections out of materials you already had on you.

Molduga hunting seems to give you the biggest stack of better than normal monster bits per kill (and throws in a couple random treasure chests on top), and isn't exactly hard even if you can't handle Hinox fighting yet. Plus they only ever get used towards upgrading the sand boots anyways.

Pretty much, yeah. Kind of like how all your meals look the same but smashing a bunch of prime meat together is worth 200 bucks compared to regular meat, etc. If you need some small change your hundreds of apples are worth 50 for five apples cooked together.

There are even NPCs who talk about how frustrated they are that they can't cook because it's raining out :v: Can't wait out a storm when you can't set a fire even if you wanted to.

So I always take very special note of any cooking fires with overhangs, at least those will stay lit if I use a fire weapon or flint (Oh my loving god Bolson. I will pay you 10,000 rupies to build a loving overhang for my house's cooking fire so I don't have to run back into town)

I don't mean you can't make a fire in a storm. I mean that waiting over night doesn't seem to stop a storm. Seems like no matter what you have to wait out the full duration as far I can tell. Like, if rain is going to last 10 minutes, it will last 10 minutes regardless of if I sit at a bonfire or not.
