I found the 'filter out legendary requests' button, but that doesn't help when people want Charizard. Changing the clock does nothing. GTS is real time with real people. The filter just removes the "mythical" pokemon. So stuff like Mew and Megearna. The only thing guaranteed to work within minutes is to offer version exclusives for the equivalent.

I found the 'filter out legendary requests' button, but that doesn't help when people want Charizard. Any remotely reasonable trade request tends to get satisfied fairly quickly. The result is that the great majority of trade requests that are visible on GTS are stupid, unreasonable ones that have hung around because no-one wants to trade on those terms. Deposit a pokemon you're happy to part with and ask for what you want, you might get it fairly quickly.

Thanks for all the replies! It hadn't occurred to me the GTS would work that fast. I was worried that so many people had spare legendaries it was reasonable to ask for them all the time.

Gts people can just be stupid and I'm sure I've seen several requests for Pokemon that you can't even trade. Real trades are satisfied so fast that you don't see them lingering long.

Back when the games first came out, I was using GTS to fill out my Pokedex while I finished the main game. I was getting trades as fast as I remembered to check them, which was usually around 10 minutes. It's probably not that fast anymore, but any remotely reasonable trade should go through in 24 hours at most.

I might try to make a shiny Mimikyu this weekend. The one I have on my team has 30/31-everything else. But if I get an optimized one before a shiny, I'll probably quit eggs for this gen. It's just statistically not fair after sooo many eggs and encounters, and them rasing the shiny ratio and everything.

I don't know about fitting into teams, but Ghost Trick the Mimikyu's been my MVP in my (admittedly brief) competitive career so far and I haven't been running Trick Room (although perhaps I should, since I've been using a bunch of slow mons in Muk-A, Araquanid, Mudsdale and Drampa) Opening with her, using the free hit to get a Swords Dance and then just wailing away with Shadow Claw, Shadow Sneak, Play Rough and Ghostium-Z has swept a surprising number of teams. Although again, I've only played a few competitive battles and presumably the same could be said of my opponents given the matchmaking in those two tourneys.

If it has 0 IVs in speed and also minus on speed nature, it won't be outspeeding common things like koko

So one way to counter trick room is to have your own pokemon that can use Trick Room, and either use it yourself or have your Trick Room mon use Imprison so that the opponent can't use it. You could also use Taunt or Roar to prevent it from going up, since Trick Room has negative priority, so it will go last.

Mental Herb Inner Focus Oranguru cheeses all those mechanics, but it's squishy as all hell. Porygon2 can usually tank the focus fire but is weak to taunts and flinches. You could also try to predict that Trick Room, and use it when you think it's going to come out. But this is a fairly risky strategy that requires reading your opponent, because if they see it coming, they'll let you set up Trick Room for them instead.iospace posted:Trick Room also has the advantage of having bulky 'Mons.
