NYT probably asked the administration for comment earlier in the morning, as per standard procedure. That triggered today's trump tweet, instead of TV news triggering the tweet. So, since the white house either responded with bullshit or didn't respond at all, and NYT didn't want to get scooped, they hit the publish button. Poor Spicey.

On that New York Time's article about Nunes, quoting Shifty Pony's post from D&Dquote:President Donald Trump has overruled a decision by his national security adviser, Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster, to sideline a key intelligence operative who fell out of favor with some at the Central Intelligence Agency, two sources told POLITICO. At least one of the two individuals that Nunes met with was literally a Bannon puppet. Who was about to be fired before Trump saved his job.
