Mordor She Wrote posted:The democrat tried to do that with "not taking away your current healthcare" and "expand education so you can get job training" and then Trump voters decided a bigly wall was more convincing argument, so endlessly attacking them is the only right answer hth. what actually happened was Hillary spent the entire general election with the message 'at least I'm not trump', TEN MILLION less voters turned out for the dems, and trump won just based on the idiot conservative vote. Trump voters were never going to vote Hillary but she could have won handily if she didnt actively work to push away voters. FYI the current healthcare system sucks loving dick, is crazy expensive, and can be blamed on democrats. "Keep healthcare the way it is" is far less appealing to most people than "fix this hosed up healthcare system by throwing a Molotov through the window" Amazingly "expand education" isn't exactly going to whip up a fervor in your voting base these days.

The amount of votes Hillary got was actually comparable to 2012 obama, it's just that it shifted regions: from the rust belt to the coasts. From what I remember reading (and I'm phone posting so no link) she was worried about losing the popular vote and campaigned in California and New York to make sure she won that assured in dem supremacy in the rust belt. She lost because she was arrogant and wouldn't just go campaign to the Midwest.

Look everyone is in the same boat here. Voters on both sides want the same thing - a stable, fair society where they have enough to not be terrified. The left says "The problem is the business owners, they're greedy, they steal your wages. The answer is more government" The right says "The problem is the government, they choke us out and use their powers for their own greed. The answer is less government" After Obama, what the right is saying makes more sense to me. The economy imploded, and there was no rebound. Obamacare failed. We've seen a decline in quality of life in America, stagnating wages, and we've had plenty of government this whole time. So why would I want more and more government interference when they obviously do not have my interests in mind at all?

The literal only solution to healthcare is single payer at this point, the democrats are much more inclined to that concept than the party of Trump, Paul Ryan and made up of "taxation is theft" types.

Essentially you want me to vote for ideals, but what happened was that I voted against the current reality. That reality is that "socialism and democracy in America has been hijacked by global corporations acting in their own interests" Like just because you're packaging "corporate tyranny" as "socialist progressiveness" doesn't mean I'm buying it. Its like some loving white bread company labeling all their poo poo "Organic" when it's the same factory sludge as always

Except the right says that and then does literally the exact opposite. We went from a small surplus under Bill Clinton into a hilariously huge deficit under Bush. The GOP says they want "less gov't, less intrusive gov't" then they decide they have the moral authority to tell people how to marry, how to gently caress, which bathrooms they are allowed to use, harsh drug sentencing and enforcement, etc. They want a nanny state just as much as the Dems do except theirs is a fundamentalist religious one. They spend just as much as the Dems do, just on different things (like the military). Like I feel you dude but the GOP is not actually the party of "less gov't" anymore and they haven't been since Reagan. Moridin920 fucked around with this message at 16:33 on Mar 31, 2017 |

The concept of "I must always vote R or D or my vote is wasted" is dumb. Parties have changed in this country before and they'll change again. These are not our only two choices forever. Besides you already did "lesser of two evils, gotta pick the one that will actually win" option and look what happened, HRC lost miserably anyway. Next time vote for Bernie in the primaries you morons.

I used to work at a remote camp and every Wednesday was steak night and there was one guy there that would have two steaks well done absolutely slathered in ketchup. Like half a bottle. And a baked potato. I never saw him eat a green vegetable in two years. He was also extremely conservative and one of the dumbest people I've ever met in my life. I think between him and SPH and POTUS we've got a fairly well established correlation between these things.
