Same. The ones here locally usually do live music, booze and food trucks too. It's pretty awesome.

Holy poo poo, that looks enormous. Looks like 4 stud diameter for the Command/Service modules, 8 studs for the third stage, and 10-12 studs for stages 1 & 2. I'd be shocked if this comes in under $150. Note that what we see there is maybe half the rocket's total height (looks like it's about the top of the 1st/2nd stage interstage).

It's approximately 28 pixels per stud in that image, and what we see is about 1869 pixels tall, or ~66.75 studs. That would make the entire rocket about 130 studs tall, which is comes out to about a meter.

What was the approximate cost of building it?

You can get two of those parts in a couple of recent technic quad bikes that are going for $10-20 apiece. Although inexplicably, there are multiple auctions for each one on eBay with prices starting at over $100. Everything in the Sold filter is $36 or less; no one is getting anywhere near that price for those quads, but there's so many listings for absurd prices!

Something like $25-35, without those two. I only really look at US sellers, because customs and international shipping isn't worth the hassle. Also scroll right past the sellers 'Planet Brick' and 'Lucky Ed's Good Old Bricks.' They generally have everything I'm looking for, but their prices are absurd.

Also any AFOL probably already has half those pieces in their horde already.

If anyone's interested, I'm selling my 76021 Milano Spaceship Rescue. Had it on display for a while and then disassembled it. All parts verified and stickers applied. Comes with all the minifigs and original instructions. I'll also toss in the Rocket minifig and the Groot torso and printed pieces from 76020 so you'll have the full Guardians crew. $60 shipped from 77059.

Tbh it's just a big tube. I like space stuff but it seems like it would be a super boring build/awkward display piece.

Having that elaborate gantry to build along side it would make it much better.

There was a small Lego model exhibit in my town recently where they had a 2 meter tall Saturn V and yeah, it was tremendously boring to look at. They all were - whichever company made the models really just fulfilled the letter of the requirements in the most teutonically efficient way. I once saw a great exhibition where the models were full of whimsical little details and minifig scenes and there wasn't the faintest trace of that in these. It takes a lot of effort to make Lego seem stiff and joyless but they pulled it off admirably.

Well this was the Ideas project: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/76841

So yeah it's a big tube (a big ball would've been surprising), but it still looks pretty cool. Not that a big gantry wouldn't make it 10 times better.

I'd say, bring on a same-scale shuttle, a Falcon (Heavy), a bunch of Russian rockets, ...

Yeah overall it's not a very good build, though the LM (when did we stop calling it the LEM, I missed that memo) and command module are really neat micro scale builds.

It is a good part source though! I bet the curvy bits will be fun to incorporate into spaceship builds.

The production one doesn't look like it has the LEM or CM, and frankly as excited as I was about this kit, if that's the case, count me out.

yeah, if it's literally just a 3 foot long tube i couldn't be less interested. the cone at the top looks pretty similar to the ideas version, though, so they could still be in there :ohdear:
