wrt Labour's media performance it is really astounding how quickly people in the Labour commentariat have forgotten the Miliband era. The media office of the Party followed the New-Labour rulebook. Protege's from the New Labour era ran the show. It didn't, loving, matter. Come election time the papers right of the Morning Star turned on the party with varying degrees of whiplash and all the "goodwill" the media office had built up from puff pieces with Miliband's wife turned out to be worth precisely gently caress all.

It's not purely the fact that they haven't yet, it's that they haven't shown any political appetite for even discussing the issue. They've weaselled out of giving any answers every time the topic is brought up, they've failed to fulfil their promises on council tax, and generally shown their colours as a centrist party that offers no real challenge to the status quo aside from independence. Well, the SNP did ask Bercow if they could be considered 'the real opposition'. Which is about as far as they've got with that programme. And they were told to gently caress off and do their loving jobs, in polite terms.

According to a friend of mine who lives in Gorton, George Galloway is apparently basically running the same "more Muslim than thou" campaign he used in 2012 in Bradford, but with the added twist of using Arron Banks' money to complain about Labour's "all-Asian shortlist".
