But no, that would involve self-awareness and clearly that's in short supply. As it goes I suspect he won't learn, and because he adores the spotlight he'll continue to get plenty of opportunities to compare Israel to the Third Reich. What a stupid tosser. It's not even a good comparison, Apartheid South Africa works far better.

Part of me despairs that suspending Livingstone means this whole debacle will come up again in a year's time. On the other hand, expelling him would have resulting in him taking the party to court. Ugh. Why does he have to have Hitler-tourettes?

One tweet about Corbyn blaming the media for Labour's poor performance, and two tweets from the media focusing on Ken Livingstone rather than the launch of Labour's local election campaign. Nice.

It's hitlers all the way down unfortunately Also, due to proper poo poo timing, his lovely Hitler story gets front page BBC coverage while Corbyn's launch of the local election campaign is relegated to the fourth story on the Politics subsection. (^^ Heh, beaten!) Here is the speech from the launch if anyone is interested: quote:Labour depends on all its members to deliver our message of investment and social justice in every community across Britain. They (the BBC) also don't call the government out for their poo poo response to the decrease in life expectancy for the elderly: quote:However, Number 10 rejected Mr Corbyn's claims and pointed to figures published by the Office of National Statistics, which suggest that life expectancy at age 65 years increased between 1991/1993 and 2012/2014, with the increase greater in England than in Wales. This is given equal weight to Corbyn's much more recent figures, and the reader's attention isn't drawn to the fact there's nothing contradictary between life expectancies falling from 2013 - 2016, while still rising from 1993 - 2014. I've seen people quoting that Corbyn rant as some tremendous masterstroke by Corbyn. I've not watched myself and have no intentions to as it just sounds a bit embarrassing, but it seems like one of these things that appeals to the base while being completely off-putting to normal human beings. Which seems about all that Corbyn and his team are capable of.

Given that I think journalists are pretty lovely people and that their jobs are fundamentally hostile to the functioning of democracy, a politician that dislikes them is certainly a vote winner for me.

Which seems about all that Corbyn and his team are capable of. I watched it, so you didn't have to, it's only a minute long. They've only posted a heavily edited clip sadly, presumably to leave out all the bits where he's not angry, but I gather it's been a long series of questions about his leadership, and not the campaign he's trying to launch, so he was getting frustred. quote:Reporter Paul Brand asked him, as he’s so worried about what the Tories are doing to Britain, if it wouldn’t be a good idea to step aside and let someone take over who has a better chance of winning. I wouldn't say it was anything particularly designed to appeal to the base - just someone very frustrated that none of the media are allowing him to talk about their campaign launch and all insist on focusing on him. A lot of headlines about not very much I think.
