Trump would like to gently caress his own biological daughter. She's his type. He's said so publicly and she's said so publicly.

That's what they'll admit in public, on the record.

There's a reason "Trump hits on Ivanka relentlessly" is an ongoing meme in some comics.

I still don't get the fear of IRS audits because unless you're actively hiding your cash it's more of an inconvenience than anything because you pretty much just give them documentation and they look at it. Like the vast majority of regular people who get audited just came up on the "well we randomly pick some people out of the 'everybody else' lump to audit anyway" and there's literally nothing wrong with your taxes.

...Oh my god it's propaganda manufactured by the rich isn't it

Yeah I was always told that the IRS are experts in telling who is trying to hide money and who just made a mistake on their taxes and there are six billion people doing the former so they don't have a single poo poo to give people who do the latter.

Does it have to be obvious?
After a tax cheat got elected to the highest office, I feel that being obvious is too passé.

It's been a while since I've seen the funny pages, but isn't Baldo about a Latino kid? I recall it to be pretty apolitical and mild.

How exactly is it right wing, especially compared to drinky duck?

Last I checked Baldo is very pro-immigration, with a strip dedicated to having the grandma forcibly removed by ICE in a "what if" scenario. I assume the column is complaining about Baldo being the liberal strip that's replacing the right wing one.

Given the strip's current state, I'm shocked you can glean any political slant from it

It makes more sense in the the full letter:

quote:

Regarding the letter to the editor lamenting the invasion of politics onto the comics pages: It is interesting and informative to note that those strips which have always been blatantly left-wing (“Doonesbury,” “Prickly City”) are featured on the puzzle pages and the Sunday funnies, but the only conservative-leaning strip, Mallard Fillmore, is banished to the Classifieds and is totally missing from the Sunday edition. Oh well, I suppose I should be grateful that Mallard is included at all in this extremely biased liberal newspaper.
No wonder someone enough of a crank to be a Mallard Fillmore fan would think that Prickly City is "blantantly left-wing." We are also talking about someone writing into their print paper to complain of political bias in the cartoon pages, so they are some combination of crazy and ancient. Anyway, the Baldo thing came up because he was responding to this letter to the editor:

quote:

With all the negative reporting on the president that goes on, there are few things in life to smile about. The comics has been one of the things I’ve enjoyed. But lately the comic strip Baldo seems to find it necessary to make political statements — and so have a couple others. I’m all for freedom of speech — but please let the comics be the comics. If you have a statement to make politically, put it in the commentary section and not the comic strips. Really? Everything has to have a political aspect? Enough already.
Anyway, cause I have way too much time on my hands, here are the only "political" Baldo strips in the entire 6 weeks prior to this guy complaining that the strip is too political. The other 37 Baldo strips that I've skipped over are the same lame, inoffensive jokes you'd expect from a mainstream newspaper comic.

When people like that complain about "politicizing" something, what they mean is "politics I don't agree with". Conservatives love talking about TV/music/movies with conservative politics (or ones that they believe do).
