The majority of the kazaki oilfields are in the west, by the caspian. In what regions do the ethnic russians predominantly live? E. wiki says the north. Ok, so a hosed up war against kazakstan wouldn't be easy or gainful enough. That, and the uncordinated media response should be enough basic facts to disprove any ideas about KGB bomb campaings

Kazakhstan (and its elites) get along well enough with Russia. There's very little chance that Putin would try anything. It would also send the rest of Central Asia into the hands of the Chinese with no effort. It's entirely possible that this bombing was carried out or facilitated by Russian state agents (wouldn't be the first time), but if it was, then going to war with Kazakhstan would be a rather strange reason for doing so.

Current narrative is that the bomber is from Kyrgyzstan, and a Russian citizen. Without further details as to a motive (i.e. something more detailed than from a country with historical ties to Russia with a majority Muslim populace), that's not really a whole lot to go on, even if one can probably make some educated guesses based on recent Russian foreign policy.

So there have been protests in Serbia (well were last night) and they're expected to continue tonight. People are upset with the outcome of the election and the lack of transparency involved with said election. Basically Aleksandar Vučić is a budding authoritarian and this election puts him another step closer to the power he and his party are seeking. Things have gotten so intense that even goons are venturing outdoors to join the protests, with my dad taking his position at the front of at least one of the protests. My dad was then attacked by government provocateurs, but provoke him they did not, for my dad is a level-headed man. I am proud of my dad. Update: Protests in Novi Sad are over, but more are scheduled for tomorrow night.  Pictured: Somewhere in the crowd is our fatherly figure.

The next protest in Belarus is supposed to be on 1 May. People are just now getting out of jail for the last one. So the results of Monday's meeting in St. Petersburg is that Belarus will receive more oil after they pay their three quarters of a billion bill for gas.

Apparently provocateurs wanted to start poo poo with the crowd he was with and the crowd got wind, so along with some others, he helped physically steer the crowd away from where the provocateurs were gonna be and back to safety. They mostly just stand around tram stops with Watchtower literature here and aren't particularly aggressive. Sometimes old ladies come to the door but if you tell them no thank you politely, they accept that and move on. Maybe its because I'm a pretty big dude (1,92m), but I've never had any issues with them.
