Bill Nye was on the engineering team that stretched the 747 upper deck. Well, that's my contribution.

Instead of fighting about which is the ugliest, what's the most beautiful aircraft? At least that way when everyone is wrong we'll at least get some pretty pictures in their attempt to convince us they're right.

I just read about British European Airways Flight 706, which suffered an in-flight structural failure in 1971. Piss leaking from the lavatory corroded away a bulkhead over time. What a way to go.

I appreciate that in some ways it's the answer to both best and worst at the same time though. The Bugatti is clearly the most beautiful, the 747 has a certain charm and is not ugly, and the A380 is great if you like girls with fiveheads instead of foreheads

There's something inherently menacing to the Su-27. Compared to something ultra masculine like the F-15, the Flanker looks graceful and super lethal all at the same time. I think it's a gorgeous airplane.

Finger Prince posted:Yeah if we're talking passenger planes, the Concorde is far and away the best looking. I agree. As far as civilian jets go I don't see how Concorde can't win. For civilian prop planes I would probably go with one of the flying boats or maybe a racer. Not that Bugatti, though. That thing is only interesting because it looks too stupid to fly (and I guess it was! LOL).

I think the Bugatti is fantastic, and the perhaps the ultimate specimen of that dashing pre-WW2 art deco era. It needs a fresh take with a safer wing/tail config and an electric powertrain. Another more brutish contender in the same category:
