Yeah the bloodstains can blend into dark areas really easily. Sometimes they really stand out though. Like in the final boss of the DLC I noticed a massive sea of bloodstains leading up to it because they contrasted with the grey ground.

Samurai Sanders posted:Often in RPGs they just don't explain that at all but this time it's pretty clearly android techno-magic. Yeah, it's one of those anime/sci-fi things where you have to put together bits of context over time and if you figure it out it's a neat a-ha flavor moment and if you don't it's not that important. There are scripted bits where you can't use melee weapons and it's justified by saying you were hit so hard your NFCS was damaged. The NFCS appears on the loading/boot screen, so you're constantly reminded that it's there. One offhand mention buried somewhere explains that NFCS stands for "Near Field Control System". Thus, you deduce that the androids have a telekinesis module installed that they use to make weapons float around.

It's a great way to handle the classic video game problem of "gosh it's hard to show gear on a character without it clipping through their bodies"

It looks dumb to me but every game with comically oversized weapons hanging off a characters back always bugged me. There's no elegant way of doing it.

It also makes for good visual shorthand so you know when an Android is controlling a weapon, which allows for poo poo like this: Gifs stolen from The Dark Id's LP

Respectively, the screenshots show the android weapon field turning back missiles and using a giant robot's severed arm to beat itself up. STOP HITTING YOURSELF

Watch Dogs 2 really is a great game. It's much more light hearted than the first one, the characters are all easy to get along with and the world is much more interesting and bright compared to the gray of Chicago.

Uplay is perfectly fine if a little clunky, and you can buy the game on steam if you want.

No you don't understand, it's bad when Steam has any attempt at competition. Also on an unrelated note, I hate every new decision Valve makes with steam.

Yeah like I have a couple of clients on my PC now. Origin's slim enough that I forget it's there and I think Itch.io got a client recently as well. Anyway. Nier Automata is a very serious game.

Nah, I'm just lazy and like having everything immediately accessible through a single client without having to remember more passwords/e-mail accounts, or having to set up non-Steam links which open other clients that I then have to log into as well. I also used to object on the basis that the other clients were just an excuse to crank up the price through regional pricing bullshit, but Steam does that now as well
