You could easily do a straight sequel if the endings were just Control/Destroy. You could use stand-in characters for synthetics the way ME handled deaths previously. Or retcon a pocket of inactive geth cut off from the signal. Or (this would be clever but probably too much effort for Bioware) have synthetic characters whose dialogue is either naturalistic or stiff/artificial based on whether AI development was set back.

Synthesis is the real fuckup.

It probably really sucks to be a cannibal arm in the Synthesis ending.

Apparently a mix of the cold or flash freezing/whatever from space/planet and his helmet protecting his brain from too much physical damage kept his personality/memories fully intact.

A main universe Mass Effect straight sequel would have been interesting as poo poo if they just grew a spine and went with destroy and "all the major races are still alive/intact" or even the lovely control ending with Shepard and his Reaper army leaving forever or some poo poo. Like you and everyone says though, Synthesis is garbage. There's a lot of post ME3 plot points that made sense to occur in a sequel.

The Krogan becoming more warlike aggressive because the genophage is cured with some Turian reconciliation tossed in because of their major help undoing the genophage, Quarian and Geth reconciliation poo poo now that Geth have have full consciousness and Quarians finally made the first steps towards not preemptively backstabbing the Geth in the back, the Asari having to deal with fallback for hoarding Prothean technology, Salarians getting poo poo on for trying to secretly sabotage the genophage cure, and tons of other poo poo would have been interesting as gently caress.

Sorry you misunderstand. Things likethe Geth. Explore some more interesting Sci Fi concepts instead of just the stuff the baddies do. There aren't enough "cool" interesting hooks in the Andromeda setting. So much gets set up in ME1 and it just doesn't feel that way here.

all of the planets in Andromeda have descriptions when you scan them

zero of those descriptions are interesting. There was at least one cool mysterious story per system in the trilogy, but not in this one for some reason

and I know the Milky Way was more developed, but you could even do something like "Ryder, our scans of this planet reveal [anomaly]. Further analysis indicates [potentially cool implication]."

they limited it to "wow uh this planet is way hot" in ME:A

The game really suffers for having taken a step back on the number of non-bangable alien races, like the hanar.

This isn't loving original-series Star Trek, it's not that hard to have a floating orb species or whatever in a video game.

Yeah, that doesn't really work. Even the cryogenic brain freezing optimists think they have to use special blood replacement non-expanding/crystallizing freezing agents injected pretty soon after death to have any chance of keeping something like your existing neural connections intact for future magic tech to revive.

It's 100 base and 200 with the Cyro upgrade, I think. So you still get the benefit.

Meh, I'll play it again in a year when all of the DLCs and expansions have been released.

Were the inventory limits really an issue? I never hit them. Sell your junk, break down all of the weapons you'll never use, and sell all of the upgrade bits for weapons you never use.

A lot of the Cryo Point upgrades are extremely meh, I had no problem putting points into inventory early on and still feel fine with that decision.

60 was kinda low, especially early on when you're still feeling out your build and want to switch guns/armor up more often. 80 was plenty for me so having it to go to 200 is kind of funny.

I feel like ME1 built up the background really well even though the game itself had a lot of really frustrating stuff. So they had stories about every race to work with when they were making the planets in ME2/3.
Of course that isn't the case here and it doesn't fill me with confidence for a sequel.

I mean the Andromeda galaxy hasn't had the reapers coming in killing everyone all the time and also in theory has room for people to develop new ways to travel since they're not all depending on the mass drivers. They've had tens of thousands of years of development to have, where are they all?

It was cool in ME1 when you touch down on that moon of Klendagon and see that gigantic canyon in the skybox, read the little lore description, then lo and behold in ME2 it turns out to have come from a massive particle accelerator weapon that took down the derelict Reaper.

Don't worry, like they say " It's all good! "

After installing the patch it just now launches a black screen in windowed mode. I had the same error with the beta and I uninstalled the corsair software to fix it.

I have no idea what to do this time. Anybody experienced this?

Solution: delete masseffectandromeda.exe and then repair mass effect andromeda in Origin
