Vanilla Mint Ice posted:If he just wants to play pendant dragon than forte isn't super necessary. I'll post my deck later tonight, it's pretty cheap with no legends and wins most games on turns 8-9. I don't just want to play meme decks, but it's quite fun at the moment. Here's the video with the decklist btw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Jx6EKP8Eqw&t=60s I haven't really commit to a class yet but I have 2 Sibyl's, and Ouroboros and most of the other ramp Dragon cards. I'm tempted to just craft the Bahumuts and make a real ramp deck.

If you're ever going to spend money on the game, I highly recommend buying the precon decks for the legendaries you want to use (IE Forte.) From a value standpoint you come out way ahead of spending the same amount on packs and hoping to get enough dust or the legendary you want.

moush posted:I don't just want to play meme decks, but it's quite fun at the moment. Yeah that's the type of deck I suspected people would try to figure out, which is a hard ramp to go for a pendant grimnir finish but I suspected it isn't super good because of a reliance of a card that you have no way of searching for. So people gotta put in alternative stuff like storm and ouroburos. Here's my pet deck which I've refined for months and is the closest thing to a completely original deck that I came up with: It's pretty budget. You play defensively for first six turns and go on the offense starting on turn 7. Either you win by 8-9 or don't. Games rarely hit 10pp for me. The only card I haven't experimented with adding to this deck is sycther

Zoe works pretty well in a storm havencraft. Play her turn 3 into a turn 4 octobishop to add some good pressure.

I'd keep that. It's got some power legendaries, but it's also a bit spread out.

I rerolled on and off for three days and in hindsight probably should have just jumped on the first decent roll I had. (although I was rerolling at work so really it wasn't much of a loss) I started with 2x Albert, Seraph, Cerberus, Odin, Neph (animated), Bloodhungry Matriarch and Alexander. Since starting from free packs I've picked up 2x Ancient Elf, Eidolon of Madness, Rose Queen, 2x Jeanne D'Arc, Merlin, Fairy Princess, Deepwood Anomaly, Ouroboros, Maelstrom Serpent, Mythril Golem, Fafnir and Heavenly Aegis. I have sixteen Take Two tickets to spend when I have time as well so that's likely to yield a couple more. Most of those legendaries are bad, but you're going to pull a ton of them off free packs. It's not like Hearthstone where legendaries are few and far between.

Built an Aggro Blood deck for the new expansion since it's always been my favorite class. It absolutely crushes Dragon, but the matchup vs Aggro Shadow is terrible. Is there a way to tech this against Shadow without sacrificing too much against Dragon? FWIW, Yurius and Alpha Wolfman both feel kind of marginal in this. https://shadowverse-portal.com/deck...6Fm.6F6Fm.6F6Fm

The ability to throw down a 1/4 taunt and just go face with everything is a huge difference maker.

As aggro-shadow scum player I have to say that yeah, the only thing that can save blood's rear end are those imps (hungering horde is cute but not really as effective). In any case, the game is definitely in shadow's favor.

Aegis + Test of Strength is the most bullshit interaction ever. Aegis would have been great just as "this card cannot be destroyed or banished", the bullshit extra wording just means that they'll have to look really really closely at every Neutral and Haven card from now on to make sure it doesn't make Aegis too good

frakeaing HAMSTER DANCE posted:Aegis + Test of Strength is the most bullshit interaction ever. Eh, test of strength was pretty much specifically printed for Aegis, no other card can really take advantage of it as well. And the bullshit extra wording is what makes Aegis actually decent (right now Haven is the dumpster class, it can fend off shadow sometimes but it loses horribly to anything else that is not a slow-rear end control deck, specially blood, goddamn, that is a massacre) As for being careful about future interactions, haven is partly based on white from mtg and taking advantage of that kind of asymmetries is pretty much what it does, so I'm sure the developers have a lot of experience with that. trucutru fucked around with this message at 11:22 on Apr 11, 2017 |

Test of Strength seems like an anti-aggro card on its face. I don't think its primary purpose was to make an Aegis player untouchable

Because Aegis is a very poorly designed card

For those running aggro/vengeance blood, how are the matchups at the moment? So far in the meta, I've just seen tons and tons of shadow (aggro/midrange), and dragon (ramp, obviously), and some sprinklings of the others.

Generally, Aggro Blood wins against control and loses against other aggro decks. It really depends on if you can safely trigger vengeance. Sun Haven and Control Blood can beat you, but they have to draw really well.

I'm playing at low ranks so it's probably not super indicative of the actual meta, but Aggro Shadow tends to be a coin flip, I crush Aggro Sword and most of the Ramp Dragon I've encountered would be about to stabilize one turn late. The Dragon lists in particular tend to let me goldfish for the first four turns, which tends to work out well. These are probably poorly optimized versions of the decks though and missing cards.
