So I failed 2 missions for some town which made them hostile. So I beat up their militia while on an escort mission since we passed their town. Now the noble house is pissed and I gotta fight their footman. Am I just screwed with this house until a noble war reset or something? e: they own half the map barkbell fucked around with this message at 02:59 on Apr 8, 2017 |

My understanding is that faction standings eventually decay to neutral, but it could take a long time. You're probably screwed for quite a while.

When looting men on the ground, is this all stuff that would normally be picked up at the end of a fight? Are there any icons to tell me there is loot on the ground?
|
# ? Apr 8, 2017 04:24 |

If you see a small burlap sack on the ground then there's loot. But you will pick it up automatically at the end of combat (unless you retreat I guess)

What's the trick to dealing with orc warriors? More hammers? Most of my dudes are armed with khopeshes, but even with their armor damage bonus it still takes forever to whittle down a warrior's plating. One or two warriors are fine, but this mission I'm on has four of them.

Ya got three options: 1) Big loving hammers. 2) Overwhelm/Fearsome spam. 3) Lay into the big cunts with maces until they're exhausted. Tricky Option #4) Throw nets over them and shoot them to death with crossbows.

Big loving hammers is the easiest since it also works for every other enemy type too.

Spakstik posted:dealing with orc warriors - Don't fight fair. - Use sacrificial bait to control where they charge and post-charge attack targets. Taunt, dogs, shield-less newbie beggars, in order of preference. - Target their weak morale by killing easier Orc Young or higher priority Berserkers. Fearsome brothers armed with flails find a niche use here. Lower than steady morale reduces their damage output, defences and eventually causes routes. - Target their high fatigue usage by clubbing them with maces. Goblin poison if you've got it. Opportunistically utilise everyone having pathfinder (right?) to back away up some hills, let them tire themselves out climbing after you. - Use consumables. Nets & dogs are wonderful items for buying you time to implement more permanent solutions. So beaten by everyone else but do use sacrificial lambs. Takes a bit of getting use to but makes it much easier. Sometimes the lambs even survive.

Hieronymous Alloy, that seed you posted Hochgrube (The Gem Mine) is the greatest settlement ever spawned in Battle Bro's its gems and salt to the nearby town pretty much funded the entire early game for me so far. Also I have recruited a monk named Ragnar the Bear, who is both dexterous and strong and spends his time arguing with the companies two flagellants over religion. I think one of the problems is pasting the seeds in, the seeds didn't work for me until I typed them in, I kept getting different bro's, map setups than people were posting.

When you c/p the seed into the game. The box fills up with extra letters. So 94c40d will show up as 94c4094. It seems to always add the first 2 digits again for some reason.

I do love the emergent narratives this generates. Spending most of the game pinching every penny at any cost. Stumbling into an oncoming world of hurt I can't reasonably flee from. Panicking, I suddenly remembered I had spent all that gold Incidentally the Backstabber perk to add an additional +5% to hit for each ally adjacent to the target synergises nicely with multiple dogs.

My cultist just converted one of my wildmen into a cultist. I have no idea how that works since wildmen seem to barely understand language going by the game's story bits that involve them Wildman cultist gestures wildly, conveying COSMIC HORROR. Wildman shits himself in abject fear. e. I think that removed the -15% xp malus. Good stuff Sloober fucked around with this message at 13:49 on Apr 8, 2017 |

We need a crisis when all the other crises have ended, where it's Davkul entering the world, and you can choose to side with him. Your cultists all automatically join, of course.

I just started a new save, did the tutorial mission and then killed Hogger. I took my first contract, a caravan escort that barely paid anything, because I couldn't find any contracts in the area I was in. The caravan got attacked by orcs on Day 2, 4 Orc Young and 2 Orc Berserkers. The Berserkers each killed one of my guys on the second turn and all I had left was an archer, a 2 handed axe user, and 4 plainclothes guys with daggers. Somehow I won without any other deaths and one of the berserkers dropped their 90-120 damage 2h axe Of course I forgot I have autoloot turned off and immediately forgot to loot it. And I'm on ironman so I can't reload

I almost never get enemy weapons as drops, same with armor even when I don't damage it. In my last run I was using flails on everyone and only going for the head and I'd clear out camps of 14+ enemies with only 2-3 drops total. I just use axes on everyone now and stop trying to preserve enemy drops, it feels a lot easier this way since things die a few turns earlier. Fatigue is easy enough to build around on the starter 2-hander guy and someone doing 90-120 damage on day 2 would carry the entire company for a while, even if he could only swing once before needing to use Recover
