Does it take a lot more time to gain XP this patch or is it just that krogan gladiators are not super great until a certain point? Up to lvl 16 and even running gold missions XP grinds take forever.

The asari adept is best when she can regen her shields any way possible. And the free "don't die now" ability is a pair of training wheels for scrubs.

Salarian Infiltrator owns. Being able to get stupid amounts of experience by constantly reviving lovely teamates owns. Being invisible and throwing a couple grenades on a tough enemy then draining their shield is awesome. But so far the best thing about the character is how the invis dodge completely messes with AI.

Shumagorath posted:Really? I saw a pair of soldiers using them not long after I started multiplayer and they were just melting stuff. On what difficulty? I trialed it on silver with cryo ammo II, the AR barrel, and a soldier with maxed turbocharge. It took somewhere in the ballpark of 25 goddamn bullets to kill the standard remnant enemy when close enough for them to actually hit, leaving you exposed for the entire duration, and the accuracy decays so badly that my predator would out-DPS it past about 10 meters, and this is against the enemy with by far the biggest hitboxes. Furthermore the predator weighed 3, and the soned weighed 60, which is so heavy that it will send characters without increased capacity well into the red by itself. If you thought it was the laser accurate version the anointed use, think again. This is just another AR that is hosed over by the massive accuracy decay they added. Without considering the ridiculous weight, it does at least outperform some of the other shotguns and pistols I've tried at very close range. But you're better off just using the talon if that's what you want. Owl Inspector fucked around with this message at 20:58 on Apr 9, 2017 |

Some Rs and URs are pretty good even at rank 1. Off the top of my head the angarans and asari duelist and human kineticist, krogan gladiator, can all hold their own in gold lvls 13ish+. I have a rank 1 duelist myself and although it's not as crazy as my rank 10 human vanguard it's close enough for the skillpoint differences.

I've unlocked 3 URs, all weapons - the Piranha is OK but the Dhan and PAW are pretty useless at level 1, and maybe just in general with whatever they did to the weapons in multi to make them all suck. The PAW (which was my favorite weapon for Ryder in the campaign) runs out of juice extremely quickly and the Dhan doesn't hurt at all for something that fires an arced projectile with a very limited clip size and spare ammo pool. I think it's a little ridiculous that there's already 5 UR classes too, before they added the Salarian Architect there were actually more UR classes than R.

Unfortunate, as I'd just started trying the multiplayer today. The basic human sentinel seems to be fine for an entry level class, priming and detonating her own tech combos with a charger for gunning.

I bumped into a host who was using a 0 cooldowns cheat so I charged around with an asari adept teammate, using infinite concussive shots to detonate everything in her field as fast as possible. With 0 cooldowns, the combos were still slower than just sniping or headbutting everything to death. Ragdolling idiots everywhere was fun and the spectacle of combos is great, but the damage is just pathetic. Like it's so bad that I'm not sure it would be overboard to literally multiply it by 5. I'm pretty sure that would still be less damage than in mass effect 3, if you consider a raider equivalent to a cerberus trooper.

Well, to be fair, while combos do less damage this time, you can much more easily do combos in this one. You don't even have to try very hard to have a constant stream of tech/fire/biotic explosions, whereas in ME3MP they were either somewhat rare or you had a team specced specifically for explosions. Then again, in ME3MP some powers actually did good damage (RIP Dark Channel 2012-2017, though I hear Invasion is basically MEA's version of it?)

Played a few games last night with some bros, and there were detonations every few seconds. At best, you'll fire a guy off into the loving atmosphere when you hit them with a biotic combo, so that's something.

Yeah, and for the longest time, you could only get tech/fire/cryo explosions if you killed the target with the detonating power, so the only people who could detonate on a regular basis were biotics. And even after that change, tech/cryo combos weren't as powerful as biotic/fire combos. This time around, with the looser restrictions on comboing, and the existence of powers that can detonate and prime, I think they're going for quantity not quality.
