Welp. Time warp thirteen days back because I forgot to feed the plant. 30 minutes of mashing fast forward later I noticed a strange numerical difference. Turns out I didn't pick up that different planet nutrients were available. Time warp back from 07/25 to 06/20, including ~4 hours of Momentos grinding and the entire third palace. Probably 15+ hours lost because of plant food. Fun!

The last like 2 weeks are all spent just reading and playing games. If you just want 100% S.Links it's a LOT easier. Like, for such a small deviation as getting 2 kindness when you could've gotten 3 you barely have to course correct at all. Would've saved you a lot of time.

Like, if I had a save corruption or whatever that caused me to lose that much progress accidentally I would probably never play the game again, but you did it voluntarily for 1. Freaking. Kindness. Point.

I'll be content just beating Persona 5 since I wussed out on 3 and 4 and quit on them. If I stress over every stat point or s link I'm going to have a bad time, all of that stuff I'll worry about if I do a NG+.

I'm the guy grinding out the true demon ending first go in SMT3 and reloading to see all the events in P4G. More than that, though, it's that the work in manually correcting everything (I did it in P4G) is way more effort than repeating things. The only thing that broke me in Golden was the Rise trophy. At least this time I'll come at it with the knowledge that I can blow the cash on SP restore accessories before the third palace and grind there instead of spending a retarded amount of time listening to podcasts while I slowly farm in Momentos. I went in being a tightwad on cash and walked out with 200k.

I'm having a hell of a time deciding if I want to romance Makoto or Hifumi and the game keeps kicking me in the gut over it. They're both so good, and every time I think I decide on one, the other does something hilarious or amazing and I change my mind! Hifumi starts yelling about unleashing her evil eye, and then Makoto goes to a Yakuza movie with me and gets really into it! How am I supposed to decide?! And then the end of the Hawaii trip happened, and man gently caress you game. I chose Makoto and I feel like a massive dick for standing up Hifumi.

The other day I asked if there were specific arcana I should make sure to max out for the Persona, and I was reading around and figured out that the answer is Lovers and Star You need the ultimate Persona from those arcana to fuse the only thing that gets Victory Cry in P5, so please be nice to Ann

It drove her crazy in the GB Endurance Run when they would waste time instead of expanding social links. So does the game have any difficulty spikes a la Shadow Yukiko? I just finished the second palace at lv.19 with almost no grinding and I'm wondering if I should put some time in Mementos to level up instead of just focusing on S-links and stats.

I'm barely starting this game and I have a feeling I'm going to need a spreadsheet of poo poo in front of me to play it properly. This game is good but it makes me realize how much my attention span has been destroyed in the last decade or so. Like it's really bad. I used to be able to grind out anything and everything- I liked poo poo like Morrowind which has an insanely fleshed out world and no waypoints/compass, and I loved the Baldur's Gate series and min-maxing DND 2e characters and micromanaging combat. And I find myself almost entirely unwilling to read the tutorials here when I know for a fact that you really loving need to understand the battle system to not get completely wrecked even on normal.

The money sink is real. Armor's good. Not so much for armor as it's stat bonuses, mind. Weapons are mostly eh, but the protagonist eventually gets a "steal on normal attack" ability that might make you feel like upgrading his weapon, I guess.
