that's illuminating, thank you! it also explains why so many of the video creators have interstitial sponsored messages -- views themselves pay almost nothing. the uploader will narrate the ad themselves or highlight a product during the build, so it's not skippable in the traditional sense and probably pays much more. and honestly, it's not as intrusive as you might think if done properly. casper, audible.com, rockler, blue apron... i see those sponsoring a lot of the stuff i watch.
