I guess they are ignoring the fct that Peter cashed a bounced check and had gone on a spending spree.

Of course, you could just say MJ paid the debt but still.

My best guess is she's winking because she's hitting on Gwen. It makes sense with what's being said in panel 2, and it makes the whole story funnier if the joke is "Gwen writes dating tips but can't tell when she's being propositioned."

Or, if you couldn't tell, Reddick is just bad at drawing.

And writing.

Towel folding! Line dancing! Wooooo!

I've never been on a cruise, but I notice nothing they listed here is anything they couldn't do just staying in Santa Royale. Other than the towel folding I guess. I assume they will have ports of call eventually though.

Uh, no. I've been on a cruise and part of the "fun" is that when they deliver new towels to your room, they origami them into amusing animal shapes for the kiddies. They can actually get rather complex...

http://www.cruisecritic.com/photos/ships/carnival-freedom-374/member-1/60976/

and yeah, cruises are every bit as boring restful as MW is depicting. Unless you plan to spend your cruise days getting drunk, which the boat ownership hopes you do because drinks are stupidly expensive.

You're trapped at sea twiddling your thumbs until you get back to land. Fancy folded towels are probably goddamned exciting after a day or two.

It suddenly occurred to me that poor baby is never going to be able to just experience a movie or TV show or book series, is she? Not like a normal person would. Not until she moves out, presumably the day after she turns 18. Every piece of media she consumes will have to pass through the filter of her parents' ridiculous nerd pop-culture fandom identity. I'm sure all parents do that to their kids to some extent ("Ok, Kyliegh, turn off that Frozen garbage and let's sit down and watch my old classic Snorks DVDs and you can see what it was like when we had QUALITY cartoons!"), but these two will be doing it to her 24/7 about all franchises. Poor kid's going to grow up hating everything forever. She'll probably see Princess Bride a hundred times as a kid and she'll know all the reasons it's A Great Movie, but she'll never love it. :smith:
