Dunno if this this was mentioned ITT yet but Spelunker is released in 9 days (in Japan) and has a demo on the Japanese estore right now. I'm in Tokyo next week and thought about buying it, however the price seems rather steep for what it is. The demo is fun though, and some dude made a complete translation guide (not that you need it, really): http://imgur.com/a/LOWtG

For me, I think it's less about cart swapping and more about how much I don't want extra physical clutter in my life. Outside of special editions, I have been slowly purchasing digital copies of physical games I own (when they're on ridiculous super sales), so I can weed out my physical collection. Physical copies are super cool, but I've reached this weird point where I want to minimize a lot of things.

I only buy digital for new games but love having carts for old systems. I'm one of those guys who keeps around a CRT for retro gaming though.

I quit buying physical stuff around the time Max Payne 2 came out, and haven't had a PC with any sort of optical drive since 2006. I own one DVD and one Blu-ray movie , but have nothing to play them on. I'm still going physical whenever possible for Switch games because something about these carts in particular seems neat and I can't really figure out what it is.

Managed to get a Switch from Amazon UK, very pleased with the purchase so far. Everyone that has seen it has commented (including me) that the Switch is smaller than they expected. Any recommendations on cases?

Any recommendations on cases? the butterfox carrying case seems to be a popular one. it has built-in game card and sd card holders and a pouch that can hold extra joycons and a charging cable and stuff like that. it also doesn't have any visible nintendo switch branding that advertises its carrying an expensive device to would-be thieves which is a positive in my book.

I've instituted a new game policy with the Switch to keep me from spending too much money. I've hit 11 games now. New rule: I can't buy a game until I finish another game. I've finished Zelda, Blaster Master, World of Goo, and 2/3 campaigns in Shovel Knight. And I'm on the last world in Bomberman and Snake Pass. So I'll have plenty of room to buy new ones coming up. Hopefully for once I won't have an unreasonable backlog. I'm not sure when to count something like Fast RMX, Voez, or Neo Turf Masters "finished" though. Unlock all tracks/vehicles? Do all 18 holes on all courses? In the queue: Snipperclips, Graceful Explosion Machine

Should I throw my switch in the trash or is this normal?

Nah I finished the story with 110 shrines and ~150 koroks. I'll probably revisit to finish side quests and shrines but never koroks. And I will probably do the dlc if it is any good.

Finished BotW so this morning I called Nintendo to arrange for my Switch to be repaired. One of the speakers has been totally hosed since I pulled the thing out of the box - it distorts super badly even playing UI sound effects if I set the volume above ~25%. If I'm lucky, they can just replace the speaker module and that'll fix it. If I'm not, the sound board may be broken, which probably means a new system board and a loss of all my saves. Anyone here had a Switch repair done yet?
