I swear that way back last year they datamined out voicelines that suggested such a mode was coming down the pipe, multiple characters talking about upgrading their gear, Winston had a voiceline about "leveling up" or spending experience because he's a huge nerd, etc. Nothing's come of it so far but it seems they at least laid some preliminary groundwork for it.

Anyway I bought the D.Va highlight intro and the game gave me two gold skins both for Tracer, Mach T. and her Overwatch Cadet one, along with some assorted voicelines. Being able to play the Uprising mode as one of your arcade games for arcade boxes plus gaining XP at the same time actually gives you a fair chunk of free boxes for your time so that's nice.

Might just be lines for a gamemode or some kind gear system that got scrapped and it's easier to just leave the unused voice lines in the game than it is to remove it funnily enough.

There's also voice lines for the annoucer to go up to rounds like 18-20+ so hurrah for that :D

They originally had plans for a leveling system and ammo pickups that both got scrapped for not fitting their "is it fun philosophy". I hope they never add leveling up or upgrades in anyway because the fun is that everyone is on even footing.

I had a mei on my team for expert Uprising last night and thought she was trolling at first but it actually kinda worked. I wouldn't call her a great pick but she was able to freeze the shield guys and bastions so that the rest of the team could wipe them and her ult is a good stall tactic. Bastion is amazing except for two things: his ult is pretty useless and you can get killed real quick in turret mode if you get unlucky and draw a bunch of aggro.

E: If Blizzard had a rotation of 5-6 co-op maps going on in the Arcade I'd probably spend more time there than in PvP.

I always assumed the Junkstien brawl was the testbed/hint of bigger pve stuff to come, and when this first started getting rumoured/leaked I was figuring we'd see that payoff - a somewhat more proper pve thing, so I was a bit disappointed to find out it was a singular pve level. That said, it's pretty darn fun and the positive reception to CTF got that turned into a permanent arcade fixture with multiple maps, so who knows, maybe we'll see something similar here.

I really like that they gave us an all heroes mode too. Orisa is way more fun in this mode then Rein.

Symmetra actually seems fantastic. The robots mostly ignore her turrets but do get hung up on her shield generator, which has a big regenerating health pool.

Everyone here seems to like the PvE mode but I didn't really enjoy it. I played on normal, it was very boring, and I kept hoping it would just end. I guess I'll try on one of the harder levels but I don't have a desire to get a group together to actually try so ehhhh.

I played on hard and thought it was a little too easy so normal is probably not the ideal experience.

It's repetitive and I wish the beginning moved a bit faster since it's piss easy on any difficulty until you hit the payload. But I do find it entertaining to experiment with different comps.

I like it but I don't like the progression from "a mild challenge" on Expert to "a single bastion wiped the team again, gg" on Legendary

If you find expert to be a "mild challenge" you seem to be getting far more coordinated teams than me.

I guess so? I haven't really had any problems with the pubbies it matches me up with yet, though it seems like every second game one of the pubbies has a horror story about a previous widow + sym + hanzo attempt. Guess I'm just lucky lol

edit: oh also I'm talking about the all heroes version when I call it a mild challenge, it's fairly beefy with the default four.

Expert isn't too bad except for the very end of getting the payload charged up which can be pretty rough and fighting the Orisas at the end. Twice now I've made it to the last two Orisas but they just stand behind their shields dropping ults while infinitely spawning tank bastions absolutely decimate anyone that goes out to try and damage them. That seems to be the real brick wall.

I mean, I get where you're coming from but the popularity of horde modes in gaming over the past 10 or so years indicate that a lot of people do find fighting AI rewarding.

I wish they hadn't built the PvE thing around a team with Torbjörn in it, maybe then it wouldn't revolve around repeatedly sitting in place for minutes until a timer ticks over.

I've had three different teams wipe on the Orisas on NORMAL. Okay, one time it was kinda sorta my fault too because I tried doing a cheeky teleport to kill a Bastion, but I was bored, okay. The other two times people rushed into the payload area and imploded while I just stood there going "how".

It'd be cool if you could edit the PvE event to have custom rules in the server browser. Being able to set up a forced character selection/playstyle with certain difficulties (enemies move faster but have less health, waves spawn faster but defense is only 1 minute instead of 4).

I'm still trying to decide if Pharah is viable or not. Her splash damage is nice but the problem is if you try to take to the air at all you end up getting wiped really fast. That said, she's a real asset at the very end because she can safely snipe the Bastions and can use the covered room above the final arena to shoot down at the Orisas.

The key to Symm is place turrets around ult so robots walk into a deathtrap, then follow Rein around all game complimenting his huge splash damage.

I second this, they could call it lore mode or something.

I'm wondering if any of the skins from older holiday loot boxes will ever become available again. This halloween will they have new halloween skins and stuff along with the old ones or are the old ones never going to be available again?

they'll add new skins and you'll still be able to get the old ones. they're confirmed that events will repeat, and there is literally zero chance of them locking skins forever

I think Junkrat is better for the majority but his usefulness falls off a cliff at the end because he doesn't have the range to safely deal with the Bastions and Orisas.

First off tips for doing the new mode on Legendary :

https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/64wigm/a_guide_for_the_uprising_in_legendary_mode/

Playing the new mode as Symmetra :

1) Her alt-fire goes through bots' shields, aim it at their arm to break the shield quickly.
2) Her alt-fire hits detonators multiple times similar to Winston's gun.
3) After each objective her shield gen gets refunded so you can move it as the team moves.
4) Regular bots and shield bots will ignore turrets IF they are shooting at players. If you place the turrets in locations where the bots will encounter players first (IE : Above the doorways in the cathedral) they'll ignore the turrets while being burned down. This also goes for the shield gen, bots will usually (not always) attack players before the shield gen. If you can put it behind the team behind an object then it will stay up really well.
5) Slicers and Detonators will ignore turrets entirely and focus on the cart. When defending the cart while it charges and also when escorting it the sym turrets are fantastic for murdering the poo poo out of the Slicers.
6) Bastions and Orisas are horrible to a Sym since they're more dangerous the closer you get, rely on teammates for them. They DO tend to target turrets before players unlike the other bots.

The Demogorgon is tired of your silly human bickering!

They need a pve mode that's aerial combat. Pharah, Mercy, jet mode Bastion and aerial mech D.Va against swarms of flying robots, titanic walkers and boss ships.

Some teeth long for ripping, gleaming wet from black dog gums. So you keep your eyes closed at the end. You don't want to see such a mouth up close. before the bite, before its oblivion in the goring of your soft parts, the speckled lips will curl back in a whinny of excitement. You just know it.
Do you get anything for higher difficulties or earning more stars on matches beyond challenge and/or satisfaction? Rewards or achievements or something? Right now I'm just happy to shoot dumb robots on Normal.

Pretty sure you get more XP for a higher score but I might be wrong there.

I know you get achievements for doing each difficulty in the limited hero mode but not sure about all hero mode.

Having a barrier is critical. Most of the enemy types don't do enough damage to be a huge threat but once Bastions start showing up they can kill you dead before you can react. Rein or Orisa is pretty much mandatory to give you some breathing room.

Dunno, I played DVA in that mode and did extremely well as her. Her damage output isn't the best, but she great at quickly taking down the small drones and absorbing any of Bastion or other heavy bot attacks while the team takes them down.
Yeah she ain't useless. I get some gold medals aside from a bastion. Her defense matrix is infinite save for time which helps lock down all bastions and she can boop the bombs.

I'd say bastion / torn, dva, Ana and mercy could clean house

Not having to reload is big too
