The idea that globalism and the extremely unbalanced trade agreements allowing outsourcing to the third world are an unavoidable reality we cannot escape is an idea deliberately pushed by corporatists on both sides of the aisle. The very fact that Trump won is a refutation of every supposedly unavoidable reality they've championed over the years and that's why their refutations have become more ardent and hysterical over the last few months. Unless you're some sort of gazillionaire, renegotiating poo poo like NAFTA and the TPP are undoubtedly good things for the average US worker. The fact that they were deliberately designed to be as painful as possible to withdraw from is just more proof of their malign intent. The uber-rich are hooked on trade deals that gently caress over the US and the average people pay the price so they can benefit.

Yes, but that doesn't erase the fact that it's Donald Trump. He benefits directly from globalization. He's not going to renegotiate NAFTA, unless it makes him even more money. What, did you think he was going to cut into his business' revenue significantly just out of the goodness of his heart? You realize a lot of his businesses here in the US like his casinos do better when US workers have more money, right? He's not neck-deep in manufacturing like a lot of the other companies out there, and forcing other contries to compete with the US worker actually serves his own interests.
