I'd like to make a general request about sharing info on stories of why any off-sites might have sprung from SA. I get that talking about off-sites might be drama-prone, since I'm assuming most off-sites come about because people were unhappy with SA, but it seems like a topic that fits this thread. Like, what is the origin story of Something Sensitive, did anything in particular cause that community to form? I also seem to remember people claiming, that the chan-boards are some kind of off-spring from the SA anime subforum, so if there is any weird & interesting stories about why various off-sites got made, share them imo.

It just seems like a weirdly innocuous thing to have turned into an off-site, but I guess one of the reason that a lot of on-line communities split up, is because no matter what content the community is originally centered around, a sub-community of people will want to jerk off to it. The way that these weird mini-communities form is pretty fascinating imo. You get some really weird mini-communities with their own bizarre norms even in just long running threads imo. I'd like for SA to get back to Weekend Web stuff on one hand, but on the other, well, you know. Mock content & eye of the abyss & all that.
