Talbot got a shutout and an assist on a McDavid goal and didn't even get in the top 3 stars. granted he only made 16 save. 10 even strength, 5 in 12 minutes of PK, and 1 shorthanded. The Sharks were so bad they made the oilers D look good. both goals given up short handed. I wonder who got more shots on the Sharks powerplays.

I've seen people on twitter blame the Blue Jackets on John Tortorella, but let me assure you, the Columbus Blue Jackets were a shithead team that resorts to playing dirty when they start losing well before they hired Torts. McDavid's first playoff goal with the oilers looks almost identical to one of gretzky's last. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXoArMDDCOM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__lBD-Wlbr0 Both shorthanded, same spot on the ice, both goalies dead to rights, even celebrated in the same spot. Expect to see these overlaid side by side in every oilers video reel for the next 50 years. edit: put them side by side, pause Mcdavid at the redline play gretzky, unpause Mcdavid when gretsky hits the redline. Goosebumps.

Kassian was a beast tonight. Real fascinating as an impartial fan to this series to watch the Canadian coverage where they're extolling how great Kassian's game was, then switch to the Sharks channel and hear them ask about suspensions for charging. With that said, the Sharks laid a real stinker out on the ice tonight. No life in them. And that PP is really really terrible. They need Jumbo back asap.

Sticks do break easy, especially once they get dinged up, but you really gotta bend the poo poo out of them to get it to go. I mean, look at the flex they get out of a typical slapshot and they don't immediately snap.

That's disappointing, is completely out of character, and totally mindless from Matt Calvert and he probably deserves an early end to his season, but I've got beachfront property in Arizona for anybody expecting anything to make sense from people of authority regarding NHL discipline in the playoffs.cenotaph posted:Hartnell can gently caress off, too. Zodijackylite posted:I'm still puzzled by the calls on this play. So, I initially had the same thought but here is probably why: Ott hit was hard but probably legal. Looks like shoulder contact even though Zuch goes flying Thus: Zucharello started the scrum by going after Ott for what in the refs opinion was a clean hit, thus nyr are going to be short Benn then shows up I guess and gets two meaning Zuch's increased to a double to keep nyr short Fight in the background gets those guys paired off. It all hinges on whether you think Ott hit is clean or not. If not then he should have started short meaning Zuch gets 2 and he gets 4 and the situation is reversed.

So Calvert might not get suspended because the stick broke too easily? JFC, NHL it's not bad because the stick broke, it's that he crosschecked someone in the back of the neck because he was butthurt in garbage time.
