If the Warriors don't' have Durant until round 2, I'd rather have the Thunder or Grizzlies than Blazers/Nuggets because variable 3-point shooting offense scares me more than paint-the-pack match-ups

I said this a month ago, but it still applies. 3-point shooting is much scarier and variable than post-ups.

Sometimes I'm not sure if Skip Bayless is dumb but then I remember his brother is maybe the best Mexican chef on the planet and I figure huh maybe it's a talented family and he's also really good at his job of making a sports-entertainment-spectacle and getting people to call in with their reaction

I'm not sure how trolling benefits Phil Jackson in his job but it's worked out for him so far I guess? Maybe?

Pop also poo poo-talks the three, which is so weird. Knicks were 21st in the league in 3PAs this year and Spurs were 26th.

Plus, the Knicks took 300 more threes this year as compared to last. They're changing along with the league and it looks like the Knicks will be back up to their D'antoni-era levels of 3PAs in a few seasons. So it's not like these old men complaining are even following through on their complaints? I have no idea what to think of it all.

Pop's irritation with the three is that it was a weird gimmick to draw more viewers that somehow stuck around. There's not other sport to my knowledge that earns you more points because you scored from further away.

Baseball, javelin throw, shot put, discus throw, hammer throw are some.

Phil Jackson has thirteen rings and is the undisputed ZEN MASTER. One wonders how many more rings he needs before he can insult Carmelo Anthony on Twitter with impunity.

I REALLY NEED TO SHUT THE FUCK UP
Phils always been like this that I can remember, using the media to talk down to others.

Him and Lebron would have been amazing together. He definitely woulda banged Lebrons mom.

Noone thought Melo was a problem, and would ever leave NY, but look at it now, its openly discussed.

Dolan is barely mentioned unless he acts directly. You all got played, and thats propaganda is awesome.

"..The high ground"
Phil's zen master thing has always been a bit overwrought. He even said himself he's not really all that countercultural in his writing, though I think he plays it up sometimes, but Phil does like the media.

I tend to think Jackson has gotten less and less flexible as he's aged and just isn't what he used to be.

McGee is awful defensively unless your plan is to have CJ/Liliard score 50 in the 1st half.

Barkley is a piece of poo poo.

quote:

"I’m not sure what to say — I’m not feeling comfortable with him sitting on the sideline crying like that,” Barkley said on the pregame show. “That makes me uncomfortable. So that tells me he’s not in shape to play. I mean, I don’t know how this night is going to turn out, but to be sitting on the sideline a few minutes before the game, crying, that just makes me uncomfortable for him.

“That’s just not a good look for him, in my personal opinion. I mean, he is clearly devastated, like we all would be if we lost a sibling, but sitting on the sideline right before the game, that makes me uncomfortable."

Quotes can seem much worse when out of context.

I watched him say that and I think it was just poor wording. It seemed like he was trying to say that Isaiah wasn't in the right state to play. They had been talking extensively and empathetically about the tragedy before that, and on how sometimes basketball can be a useful distraction.

I loving hate Barkley, and will do anything to slander him when he deserves it. But I don't think he was saying anything bad about Thomas, it was just worded very poorly.

Like I've had a boss tell me to go home when I was clearly unable to focus and be productive after my grandmother died.

The NBA playoffs is a bit different than maybe missing a deadline on an application milestone. But I totally get why someone would say hey maybe basketball's not as important right now.
