I had a real turd of a first sergeant for a while and he convinced the CO to stick it to a dude for drat near the exact situation(got some Vicodin for a thrown out back while on leave). Thankfully Joe had been around the block once or twice and when they called him in he just said "JAG". Once they got involved nothing got heard about it again because it was loving stupid.

Similarly, had a junior enlisted soldier get hosed up on cocaine in a hotel room with some strippers. He'd been a pretty heavy coke addict prior to joining. He called his squad leader, said he had a problem, and he wanted help via ASAP. Squad leader and his PL, who I took over for about a month or two after this bullshit, tell him to go to ASAP. Commander conducts a recall and immediate 100% urinalysis and writes up an article 15. Long story short, results of entire UA thrown right the gently caress out, including some other unrelated dude who tested positive for coke, no article 15s at all, commander basically called a total moron by an O-6 JAG officer when the commander decided to say he'd like to pursue the charge, even after having it explained like law-101 by a JAG captain.

You don't want it.

I'm kind of biased in that I like Mat Best and his youtube videos, along with Article 15 clothing (sometimes). A buddy of mine on my Iraq deployment got completely hosed up, third degree burns and recently had to have a leg amputated. He pushed through it somehow and recovered, and is at the gym almost every day, living a better life than I am. Apparently he's good friends with all those guys that do the videos and stuff, and he's good people.....so by proxy I have this hope that the Article 15 guys are good people too. Yeah some of their poo poo is moto dumb poo poo but it seems like most of it is tongue in cheek.

No, I didn't. Like I said, I just like them because they're good to my buddy who needs that kind support and purpose, and even if they make dumb poo poo and make money off of other dumb vets at least they're getting together and hanging out with other vets instead of being loving alone and self destructive and suicidal. I'm glad my buddy has some good dudes to hang out with and shoot guns with, have a good time. He deserves it more than anyone I know. I'm the self destructive piece of poo poo who put a gun to my head yesterday for the millionth time and almost went through with it because I'm too loving weak to get off my rear end and find purpose because I'm a dumb grunt who wasn't good at anything except fighting. And I loving miss it, I miss that camaraderie I had with those guys because that's the closest I'll be to anyone in my life, because of the poo poo we went through together. So there, that's why I like them even if we all loving poo poo all over other vets because yeah a lot of them are loving stupid. Hell, some of my buddies I went to war with aren't that sharp, voted trump and are extolling his virtues to me. But you know what? As soon as my girlfriend told one of them what had happened my phone was blowing up, them wanting to know if I was okay. So, yeah there's some dumb poo poo out there, but the impression I get is at least the Art15 guys are good guys at heart, even if they're dumb and make some dumb poo poo. Just like my buddies can be dumb as poo poo but they're still good people even if they have some dumb opinions. Hey look, a Mike-o meltdown, how long has it been since the last time?

Got to interview Mat Best for a military ball we had a while back, since one of our Gold Star Wives invited him out. He's surprisingly low-key and super respectful, especially when compared to his Youtube stuff. So I could see him being the type of guy to reach out to vets who got the short end of the stick. And, hey, Joe is going to talk poo poo even after he gets out, regardless of MOS. If you can profit off of that, then more power to you. I'm not keen on reminding myself of my job during my down-time. Also, LOL at the MMA stuff. Only know one guy who actually does it, and his hobby was Judo until he got to Ft. Hood. The difference between a regular MMA fighter and some Joe out of Combatives Academy is laughable.
