Well, I disagree. The Middle East has been in bad shape for a long, long time, but Bush amped it up to a level that we hadn't seen since at least WWI. His loving up diplomacy with Russia set us inexorably down a horrible path geopolitically. And he played a pretty major role in the financial collapse. If you think Hoover was worse, I can understand that, but saying Bush isn't in the top 10 worse is pretty :psypop:

I think the American system of having a vibrant capitalist class being structured around a steady and slow socialist core is a great system, it's just when there's bleed over (money into politics /political favors into business) it becomes crony capitalism aka corporate fascism

So, your solution is to put a billionaire in whos only difference with his opponent is giving his donors direct positions rather than giving positions to go-betweens.

We're both populists, but i'm not the one saying 'give the billionaire a chance'

I think if there's any society on Earth that could stand to have some food rationing done, it's the U.S, hell our president needs to lose at least like 100lbs to be a real person.

It actually seems historically debatable if it ever happened, or if it can scientifically even work (smallpox not being easily transmitted through those means). Whatever the case, it doesn't seem like it was a widespread plan, because the same 2 guys keep popping up with the same quotes.

quote:

We don't know if Bouquet actually put the plan into effect, or if so with what result. We do know that a supply of smallpox-infected blankets was available, since the disease had broken out at Fort Pitt some weeks previously. We also know that the following spring smallpox was reported to be raging among the Indians in the vicinity.
