i realised that the current mvc grid lib that i put in as a test but everyone went 'oh this is really good' and started building on was in fact bad and asked a team lead on another app if he knew 'a decent [mvc] grid library where i don't have to rewrite 50% of it to make it useful' and he just laughed and said 'we'd be out of a job if that existed' i figure i need client side sorting but server side filtering (passing to different procs for different filters basically) and the telerik kendo grid looks sweet but $1500 per developer for a license what the gently caress....I'm gonna have to just role my own ajax filter wrapper like i thought.

# ? Apr 21, 2017 01:14 |

the docker people have built a bunch of stuff which is useful on its own, but isn't really docker. so they decided to call that moby. the big change for anyone actually using docker was the CE vs EE split, and the big change in versioning. this moby thing literally affects no one who was just consuming docker.

is there a good digital ocean equivalent for windows folks? i'd love to be able to throw my c# stuff someplace cheaper than aws, it's a bit expensive for side projects.

jony neuemonic posted:i assumed azure would be similar to aws in price, but maybe not? for VMs yeah, I mean, what do you need to do? if it's a full MVC web app thing then azure does have some no-VM hosted app options. if you happen to have bluemix credits or want to use IBM bullshit they just launched managed .net support on shared hosting, I have no clue what the cost is edit - apparently it's free for right now kitten emergency fucked around with this message at 02:30 on Apr 21, 2017 |
