I actually really like Load and Reload. They're good hard rock albums. If you combine the good songs from each then you'd have a really great record. Low Man's Lyric is a top 10 Metallica song. Outlaw Torn, Bleeding Me, and Fixxer are also tremendous.

But generally eat literally anywhere that isn't in the French Quarter. The Quarter is just too touristy and crowded. I'm sure there's good food there too but my general tourist in new orleans advice is to stay out of the heart of thetourist trap. Not that I'm a local, but I once stayed in NO for a week. We stayed at a dude's house in the Marigny and spent a fair amount of time there and in the Bywater and St. Claude, and there was just amazing food everywhere.

See if there are any night events at the observatory. Depending whenn you're around check Metro, Lincoln Hall, the Vic, Subterranean for shows. Wicker Park is good for shopping and food.
