I started watching Shirobako because I wanted to learn more about how anime is made. I have two things I wanna say so far having reached episode ~I wanna say 6 or 7? I watch them on my phone when using public transit. 1. Tarou should get his incompetent rear end fired out of a cannon. I was shaking with rage at how badly he relayed messages between the AD and CG guy and Director. This isn't a game of Broken Telephone, this is taking a perfectly functional telephone, dropping it, shattering it, and then stomping on it until you turned it into dust, and then melting the dust down to make a paper weight shaped as poo poo, that you left it on your desk innocently asking why you're so upset with having a poo poo shaped paperweight on your desk that used to be your phone. 2. I made it 6 episodes in before I had to google what's a cut because I wasn't sure exactly how much work was being expected of people, I should've realized it was a reference to how long before the "camera" transitioned to a different scene, that's just crazy amount of work. I love this show, it's amazing and I'm feeling like I'm learning a lot as I'm trying to get into the games industry and the animation industry and games industry have a lot of overlap in terms of workflow, production schedules, multidisciplinary integration and so on; also it's vaguely not quite the Office but it's a procedural show and somehow I feel like the stakes are high when screw ups are happening.

It's a really well made, beautiful show--in my mind still the best of 2015. If you ever do a re-watch please watch it on a bigger screen. It deserves it!

Also I'm reading Sakuga Blog now finally now that some of this makes more sense to me. And Tarou being bullied by Agronox posted:It's a really well made, beautiful show--in my mind still the best of 2015. I use an HTC M8 which don't think is that small and at least it's still 720p.  I don't think visually I'm losing much on my phone as I'm usually looking at it with my phone fairly close to my face and I'm usually rewinding a lot trying to figure out where in relation to the overall production process or how the current conversation relates to said process and why it's important and so on. I spend a lot of time thinking about the current scene so a rewatch is definitely probably in order when I grasp more of what's happening as it happens.
