As reported by another blog, Dogpatch Press, it all started when a fur fan going by “Deo” — who hadn’t even been planning to go to RMFC — made a reference to punching Nazis on Twitter, then reported to Denver police and security at the venue that a member of the Furry Raiders had alluded to maybe bringing a gun to the convention, for defense against the scary Social Justice Warriors.

One girl used her key card to take us through secret passageways to the customs checkpoint, skipped in front of the line, basically ordered the officers to open a new lane just for us, and we were at our connecting gate in just a couple minutes.

To make it relevant to the thread - the glares we got from people in the main line were pretty delicious. I hate waiting in line.

Her realization came during Trump’s post-election 60 Minutes interview where he oh-so-casually walked back on his promise to “lock up” rival Hillary Clinton

quote:

At the ballot box, she ultimately turned toward Trump because she wanted a pro-life judge appointed to the Supreme Court and felt Trump’s plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act would be better than Clinton’s plan to patch the existing system. Today, Underwood is rethinking both of these positions—and whether she will ever vote Republican again, especially as she watches the previously critical GOP placate Trump at every turn.

quote:

Zach Wilson used to be one of them. A 26-year-old Bernie Sanders supporter living in Chicago, Wilson found the Facebook page by chance. Wilson didn’t vote for Trump because he liked him. He voted for Trump because it was a “gently caress you” to the Democratic National Committee, which he perceived as having screwed over Sanders in the primaries.

quote:

“MR. President if u don’t lock Hillary up it will look like your corrupted BIG MISTAKE & I’ll want 2 change my Vote,” “I voted for you and was appalled by the nomination of DeVos for a position for which she is clearly unqualified. Crooked.” and “I supported Trump until he appointed a bunch of billionaire to his cabinet and unregulated corporate pollution into our waters.”

They sound like either idiots or assholes. And one of the bits of harassment is just stating fact. "You voted to kill my daughter and I." There are people who Trump's poo poo could kill. Regretters might want to try facing that music.

quote:

“We need to take the red and the blue and make purple and just work together. Without that we cannot stop him,” Underwood says. “It shouldn’t be an ‘us and them thing.’ It should simply be a ‘we’ thing.”

Sounds like something that HILLARY CLINTON might say!

Seriously though, I notice the question was not asked "What are you doing to solve this problem"? Are they just sitting around in their pity party and whining that other people are being mean, or are they doing anything at all? Calling representatives? Protesting? Donating money to defunded organizations?

Trump fans almost annoy me less than people who act like there was no foreseeable way a Trump presidency could be exactly what it is. Some of the things they are complaining about were incredibly predictable.

There's a certain intelligence factor to a lot of these things, sadly a good percentage of people just are not equipped to understand very basic things and politicians can easily lead these people down the wrong path.

Case in point: http://www.cnn.com/2017/04/20/us/louisiana-climate-change-skeptics/index.html

There is literally nothing you can show these old fisherman that will convince them that climate change is a problem, because they simply don't have the capacity to understand basic science. There's quotes in there like "if a scientist told me he was 500 years old, then maybe I'd believe him about climate change.", and "What is science? Science is just an educated guess. There's just as much chance for them to be wrong as there is for them to be right".

So facts are not really important, not nearly as important as having the apparent ability that someone like Trump has to connect with these people and gain their trust. Once you do that you can get them to believe anything and they will doggedly hold onto it regardless of any facts that come along.

Its always been special interest poo poo, ideological pandering, and in opposition to every major instititue that is involved in the respective sector of the legislation. As Bill Maher echoes me. Here's some schaden I enjoy: those Trump voters are getting the same hatred and rage they gave to everybody for the past few decades and are folding immediately. Life was good when they could bullshit and screech without fear of being corrected but now that they face some genuine consequences (beatings, mockery, outright exclusion from loved ones and former friends) they back down completely. This isn't just about remorse for Trump, it's about not being given the space to spit on everybody anymore or simply allowed to screech to the horrified and frustrated silence of people anymore. And it scares them because now nobody is going to cry that hard if a Trumpy voter just happens to get screamed at, or hit, or thrown to the ground and a good solid beating that has been a long time coming. For all their rage, these stupid fuckers are cowards, and even now they know if they don't back down from it they're going to be social pariahs....all for a man who wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire.

Nothing has changed the fabric of America more than Trump winning the election, because in a weird way it brought everything to a head in such a dramatic fashion that now everything has changed in a very big way that I don't think we can go back from. There's no time for forgiveness or 'coming together' when you know the Trump voters are simply going to go back to their ways and want the world to, once again, retreat back to the past so they can be assholes without fear.
