I laughed despite myself.

I also have to admit I am intrigued by the way they've started this Pinky storyline in Radio Patrol.

The Caribbean, according to a strip about a month ago.

Mary Worth

Quick story: When I was ~12, my Mom took us on a trip to a resort in the Bahamas. There, we got tickets to a show, which the hotel guy assured us kids would enjoy. As the music began and the curtain came up, the first thing that happened was a woman in a topless costume was lowered from the ceiling and said "Welcome to Dazzling Deception!" (if I remember the name right--and I probably do as this is embedded in my memory). I looked at my Mom, expecting "We're out of here" or something, but she didn't react at all, at least noticeably, so I went back to watching. The entire rest of the show was chock full of beautiful topless models for my adolescent self to enjoy.

Not saying that's about to happen, but it would be something.

I'm a little unclear on what happened there in those first two panels. I guess X-9 was knocked out by electrocution somehow?

These ones aren't quite as notorious in the public eye though. Don't think newspapers would like the idea of a cartoon child in North Korean-Buchenwald. Vaguely oppressive South America is much safer.
