I used to listen to a lot of punk and related genres.
Guttermouth occupied a modest space in my playlist as a teen.

Listening to them now I realize that they are a terrible band and also pretty homophobic.

In my weak defense, I usually don't listen too hard to lyrics.

Memes I thought Was Dead, 101

It's a mixture of old memes coming back into style after a period of time, and the widespread growth of a meme known as "soundclowning" where artists on SoundCloud make strange remixes for funsies. It's what revived Shrek/Smash Mouth from a while back, why Lazy Town is a widespread meme instead of a creepy 4chan meme, and why Neil Cicierega blessed us with Bustin

Imagine I linked the clip where Marge Simpson pronounces it "foilage" because apparently it's not anywhere that I can find online.

"Things becoming memes 10 years after they were last relevant" seems to be a common meme trend. See also Prequel memes, Shrek, Spongebob, Lazy Town, that godawful Cat in the Hat movie, 10 year old Simpson's episodes, and uh.....I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

Basically, if you're looking to start a new meme, I'd suggest trawling through the dregs of pop culture from ten years ago.

edit: I just figured out it's spelled "prequel" not "prequal."

In the Eminem song "just don't give a gently caress" there's the line "cuz when I smoke out I hit the trees harder than Sonny Bono". Sonny Bono isn't a famous stoner; he died in a skiing accident.
