Am I right in thinking that having a skill on your bar, regardless of if you have that weapon equipped, gets you XP for that skill line?

Yes. Exp is distributed to every skill on your bar, and thus to every skill line represented there, even if you don't or can't use them.

Do you get more xp if you have more skills slotted? Like, if I slot 3 dual wield skills, I get more xp than just have one slotted.

Yes, is believe yes. Also having 1 piece of gear, level up that line (light, medium, heavy armour).

Public quest seems to lavel up fighter guilds. Dungeons and delves may level up undaunted (could be wrong here). Mages guild is level with lore books (and using skills?). Assault and support probably playing pvp with the skill equiped.

I CANNOT HANDLE BEING CALLED OUT ON MY DUMBASS OPINIONS ABOUT ANTI-VIRUS AND SECURITY. I REALLY LIKE TO THINK THAT I KNOW THINGS HERE

INSTEAD I AM GOING TO WHINE ABOUT IT IN OTHER THREADS SO MY OPINION CAN FEEL VALIDATED IN AN ECHO CHAMBER I LIKE

Mages guild is leveled by doing the mage guild repeatable/daily quest or with lore books. Fighters guild is leveled with the fighters guild daily, killing daedra and doing dolmens. Undaunted is leveled by doing the undaunted dailies.

Skills within those lines are leveled up just like every other skill, put it on your bar and get XP. I believe, if you have dual-wield skills on your bar and are also dual-wielding with your weapons, you will level dual-wield faster than if you only had weapon equipped in DW, but I could be incorrect.

As long as Wrobel is in charge of combat design we're always going to be suffering.

That's not to say that the rest of Morrowind is bad. It's quite the opposite, it's AMAZING. Obviously we can't talk about it because lolNDA but it's pretty loving amazing regardless. It's just some of the idiotic changes to the base game that are souring everything up.

As a Magicka Templar healer, should I be leveling the restoration staff skill line for any of the healing skills or buffs, or is my restoring light skill line enough to heal and buff groups in dungeons?
I just did my first couple of dungeon runs and only used Breath of Life and we did pretty good, I've been using a Desto staff and completely forgot about the Resto staff line. Regeneration looks pretty useful but maybe it's outclassed by Restoring Aura later on? I'm currently level 18.

Level resto staff. You can't carry your team with just Rushed Ceremony/Breath of Life, and come Morrowind you'll need a resto staff to even be able to do more than one heal rotation and to get the Major Mending buff back.

There aren't cliff racers per se (the tech for actual flying monsters was more complicated than they wanted to deal with, apparently) but there are grounded cliff racer relatives. Also the Warden has an ability that just summons one to slam into your target and it plays cliff_racer.wav on about 30% of the casts

I played morrowind for 6 years and I don't remember the cliff racers. Except the first time I visited Balmora, I think. Two of them followed me and I had to run everywhere until I managed to avoid them.

My 3 favorite things about Morrowind (the game) are the music, getting greeted by npc when I enter a room and the alien look of everything. Also the place where like variations of a theme, not everything was dusty hill, there was swamps, isles, mountain, pools of lava.

I feel at home in Davon Watchs, and much less anywhere.

I know you have friends in your DC pvp guild and I'm sure they're p good, but me, scy, froid and dori murdered lord small hands on stream 3 (I'm pretty sure it was 4) times the other night and it was epic. At one point they beelined for us and we cornered them in a tent and then murdered them forthwith. PVP EP with goons friend, it's epic and always fun, that is all. Fengu, the asshat who wears 2 proc sets bitched and bitched about skoria. It was fun.

Honestly, any combination or race and class will be fine for anything except advanced endgame/PVP stuff, and if you get to that point and are fretting about optimization, you can just pay (actual money) for a race change. You'll probably mess up and waste skill points on the wrong thing at some point, and the cost for respecing scales with your number of distributed points and is easily affordable with gold. It's no big deal.

I feel like Orc is a particularly good race for a first character due to racial bonuses to learning crafts and running speed, and that's something you'll appreciate more early on than a damage % bonus to whatever.

One thing I'd caution you about is that depending upon what you want in a "sorcerer," the Sorcerer class may or may not be what you actually want. It's lightning/wind/dark magic themed, and also the pet class. If a fire/earth mage is more along the lines of what you were envisioning, you want Dragonknight. The new class that we'll get in June has an ice skill tree, but the class that works best with ice staff now is probably Nightblade.

Hey, so...i had an ESO code from before they did some big changes (?!?) and was feeling like trying out a new MMO so used it to playing ESO and somewhat liking it.

This was for the 'base' edition without the dlc which leads me to the first question:

1) is there a way for me now to upgrade to the gold edition or now i can only buy the DLC separate from the crown store? Probably cheaper just to buy a gold edition 'box' and start over ?

2) should i even bother with crafting before max level?

3) is there a list of hidden/easy miss-able stuff? I hate having to go back to stuff to complete a lonely quest/visit a place that i missed so i can get X cheevo

Start crafting and researching traits ASAP. I would even recommend putting points into the skills that decreases research time and lets you research more items at once over anything else, too.

ahh the one that makes you use less upgrade mats is huge, but that can wait till later.

You WILL be doing this stuff yourself at some point because you'll wear bound gear that you can't have other people upgrade and you'll want to upgrade it to purple/gold.
