yes, in basically all of southern europe (which includes france for the sake of this discussion), sexual indiscretions are only shameful if you act ashamed about them. if someone is otherwise popular and handsome enough they can get away with loving 15 year olds because it's TECHNICALLY over the age of consent or whatever. if you have a spouse or they do, well that's just too goddamn bad now isn't it, should've watched your man or woman a little more closely and hosed them how they want, huh it's really funny to watch some people attribute this to 'puritanical prudishness of america' but surprisingly enough adultery and kiddie diddling has some pretty well documented consequences that are all bad.
