that's corona discharge on a 230kv power line at night. not visible to the naked eye.

it's fun to take pictures with a vacuum tube

(it's an intensified camera, which means the camera tube is basically the front of an image intensifier and the back of a vidicon tube. good for low-light and IR sensitive too!)

low light cameras are fun and the sensitivity on them these days is ridiculous. good way to discover that your darkroom is not in fact as dark as you think
