The best part of the McElroy family is that it's so easy for someone to express any interest at all in any subject and you go "oh hey, I listen to a podcast/watch a YouTube series about that if you're interested" super casual like and then they're in. One of us, one of us.

My roommate started listening to TAZ after hearing it while in my car, and now that he's worked through the entirety of that, he's trying to get into MBMBaM. So true. I've struck up conversations with friends of friends on Facebook when I noticed them dropping McElroy in-jokes and had really nice interactions every time. McElroy fans are all just super chill. I think a big part of it has to do with their overall mission to be inclusive of all people no matter what. It's a pretty safe bet that, if someone's a fan, they've probably adopted that same mantra. I know it's affected me for sure.

Sometimes I put those individual youtube bits on shuffle while I'm doing something else. The 'drop the beat Francis' one is on there which still makes me laugh every time. Also the one with the kid who didn't know how to bring up his secret desire to wear shorts. And the The Gambler one, and Sex Draculas and Curse A Real Sword. If they don't like any of those, they won't like the show...

Tit Liquid will always be one of my favorites. It was one of my first exposures to McElroy humor, and I was so delighted by the journey of hairpin turns that started with "Moo Juice" and somehow ended up at a horehound-loving vampire assassin running for Republican primary. The way all the brothers accepted each bizarre new detail and ran with it convinced me to subscribe. In hindsight, Justin's responsible for some of my favorite characters: he's the one who started the Tit Liquid riff, Glass Shark, tiny Amélie, the Spanish DNA strand from Jurassic Park, Taako... Everyone knows the most optimal way is to infinite dupe Rare Candies via the missingno exploit and overlevel your Venusaur to something around 175 and have it beat the Elite 4 by itself.

The show in its entirety is pretty great, but the Rachos episode in particular was really well representative of them as a group, while not being in-joke heavy.
