To my eternal shame, I had 9Steve on aggressive when I entered this area and had to murder my way all the way through because I didn't think to tell him to calm his poo poo. I'm so sorry, Party Tank.

I had 9S set to aggressive When I got to the tank, I booked it for the next section, and realized I needed to tone down 9S a bit. It wasn't until I headed out that I got the loot Id showed off earlier.

He steered me wrong and I didn't ever know the joys of the Responsible Party Tank. Also why is it adorable that the machines are being responsible drivers? Why this?

So I entered this park killing every freakin' machine I could find. I was still just a teensy bit freaked out after my time in the desert. I killed everyone at the entrance. I killed the tank. I somehow missed the trophy pop-up in the middle of my murder-rage and just kept on murdering. I only realized what I'd just done when I walked up to another machine ready for the slaughter, and noticed something like "Shop" above his head and accidentally went into his Shop Menu. And then I got out of the menu. And then he didn't attack. And then I realized. And then I knew the name of Yoko Taro.

I was nice to most of the robots, barring accidents when hammering on the buttons for dialog went too far and I walked directly into a combo. But the tank? I was told it was broken, and everything AFTER it tried to murder me, plus I saw a screenshot of it as a boss fight. Didn't realize you COULD skip it until much later. Sorry, Tank. I will avoid murdering you in the future.

I wonder if those broken earrings the bots give you are co-incidence, or if they have any foreshadowing to the two androids opera bot lady is wearing. If you don't attack Party Tank, but you do stand in front of it, will it run you over? I could see the bots deciding that was too dangerous in that case. I didn't start attacking the machines, because it's not like it was the first time we heard of non-hostile ones. But then I swung my sword at the weird fountain statue, which... has a hurtbox for some reason. Didn't do poo poo to it, but it sent 9S into a murder frenzy and I had to slash my way through the entrance. The party tank lived to see another day, thankfully. This next part is easily the most fun I've had in this game so far (only about 5ish hours ahead of the LP), though. Probably because it's also the trailer that convinced me this game would be a masterpiece. Zagglezig posted:If you don't attack Party Tank, but you do stand in front of it, will it run you over? If you are ever watching someone stream this or something and they immediately attack every, slam that tab closed because you’re watching a real dipshit! I'm getting sick of the pro-machine propaganda coming out of this LP. Our human masters on the moon are struggling each and every day to survive while these goddamn machines are partying in our amusement parks and loving in our desserts. We can't rest until every single one of them is slaughtered, melted down into scrap, and used to build a monument of victory for our android brothers and sisters. Like, you can not only be delighted at a confetti-shooting tank that uses proper turn signals, you can be proud of your decision to not destroy it.

The game pretty well incentivizes you to go on a murderous rampage throughout the Amusement Park; or at the very least, the murder the Party Tank. The androids are in a pretty brutal war with the machines, as shown in the opening mission where everyone except 2B - and including the 'original' 9S - dies. Every android you meet who talks about the situation has no sympathy for machines whatsoever. You just got done investigating a pile of android corpses that led to a veritable army of machines that gave birth to dickless Sephiroth. Then 9S and the machine right before the Party Tank tell you that it needs to go down. Ignoring it is kind of an abnormal decision to make, which 9S more or less points out after you leave the area. I didn't know it used proper turn signals okay guys? I didn't know...........

Yeah but we've been sent to this place to investigate missing resistance members, not fight machines. Union rules say 2B and 9S only have to do what they've been asked to.
