whats great is tormp's successes have come almost solely from stiffing people who work for him and getting highly litigious and bleeding the beast when it all falls apart. There is like zero room for doing this as president

that's the main flaw yeah, trump is negotiating like he can just renege on deals whenever he feels like it.

i'm not dumb enough to think that trump himself will suffer any negative consequences for this but he's actually made the usa incredibly easy to deal with.

just get a hugely beneficial trade deal(that trump thinks he can just walk back) and butter him up enough that he won't threaten you militarily.

He was meticulous about crafting and maintaining an image that projected competence and success. Anything good he put his name on and took credit for. Anything bad he blamed on someone else and poo poo on them endlessly.

Also, investors can be dumb people.

Also, he practiced vulture contracting. He'd promise his subcontractors a good deal, stiff them, then make sure the cost in court would be so punitive that they'd settle for less or go bankrupt in the process.

the only reason he succeeded in any way is that the american system is made specifically so it's actually impossible for him to fail

even then trump pushed that to it's absolute limit

no danger here.

So there's a Philip K Dick short story called The Mold of Yancy in which a moon colony survives happily as a totalitarian state with not resistance movement or anything. Turns out there's a dude called Yancy who has a tv show, and he subtly manipulates people with a combination of truisms and folksyness, up to the point that they lose their ability to make decisions for themselves and will just agree with whatever opinion Yancy puts forth. Turns out that Yancy's a construct owned by the regime rather than a real person.

Don't know why Mitchell exchanges always make me think of this.

Yeah, I would hope California keeping the $82 billion they send to the Fed would fill up some of the shortfalls in the budget.

Mississippi, Missouri, other shithole Southern and Midwestern states are hosed tho lol.
