This is pretty interesting- DJI, the company that makes commercial drones for enthusiasts and videographers, quietly released an update that geofences much of Syria and Iraq and prevents them from being flown in those areas. The entire reason they like block grants is that it's much easier to stop funding block grants than it is to stop funding Medicaid. Also the states controlled by the GOP can stop paying out ASAP. The entire block grant idea comes from strategy rather than principle.

Like they want federal block grants in Brownbackistan in order to fill all the gaps that constantly cutting taxes have left like paying for public education. If any government program shifts to block grant, it means immediately the funds will be spent elsewhere than intended.
