President Roosevelt, are you sure sending one ship at a time is a good idea? I think it makes them easier to pick off in the Pacific. What's the Pacific?

If I've learned anything from World of Warships, its that you were lucky that the Cleveland didn't take 40 planes down with it.

You know there really aren't that many CAs, I bet I could track down how many are left.... ...and then I remember that's how it started last time.

Not bad. Two downed Allied Cruisers - just what were they doing around in attack range anyways? A recon fleet or patrol?

The Allies have developed invisible bombs! The Simms puts up a drat good fight. The Cleveland had not been sunk. We solve that issue. We then go after her escort. Come afternoon we take her out. Another good day for our planes. Well, that was another good day! At least we get a proper reading of what sunk our ship here.

Wasn't it the Clevelands that were classed as CL's but were pretty much CA's in all but name? If so, a good kill!

Drone posted:Wasn't it the Clevelands that were classed as CL's but were pretty much CA's in all but name? If so, a good kill! Clevelands were extremely powerful for CLs, with four triple 6" gun mounts plus a heavy secondary (for a cruiser) of 5" DP guns and a lot of AA. The closest Japanese analogue would be the Mogami class when they were fit with triple 5.9" guns in five mounts, but these were refit to have 10 8" guns instead as proper heavy cruisers.

Don't forget to load up the Yamato with 18.1" AA shells, duder.

Not bad - two cruisers and two destroyers dead for relatively few planes. Just what was the American TF doing in the area otherwise? Otherwise, still couple of nice kills.

I'm imagining meetings of high ranking Japanese officers trying to figure out just what the hell the American strategy is and what they're trying to accomplish. Whatever Japanese word is closest to "inscrutable" is probably thrown around more than a few times.

wasn't there a japanese stereotype of Americans being stubborn and inflexible? that would be a bit more appropriate stereotype in the greyverse. maybe this is like, a weird fever dream of one of those holdouts

There'll be Japanese stories about American sailors trapped on South Pacific islands who still think the war is going on in the 70s.

A kill is a kill. We come out on top here – just. Having lost all the new pilots, the veterans get on with the work. The Sims somehow remains afloat. I seem to have sorted out my production woes – I was focusing to much on fuel and not enough oil was getting moved – hopefully, we should see our pools improve. Also, look how well we did in air kills! We only have an old kill to confirm.

Administrative assistant at the Pentagon. Pick a branch, any branch. It it has to be a combat role, than be stationed aboard a battleship. Aside from Pearl, they went through the war mostly untouched.

I suppose it would be a pretty safe job late in the war when the Allies had established air superiority but not earlier. So basically Americans get off easy again.
