With the hit reg in this game yes. The retarded thing about hand cannon rolls and perks is theres nothing to help 2 out of the 3 main archetypes be effective. The impact tier above palindrome fires too slow and theres no way to quicken it and the tier below has too low range on any roll to be effective. I think the max range you can roll on the quicker fire archetype is like 20 below a palindrome. If you could get one of the quicker firing archetypes with the same range as a luna it would be a useable choice imo. I normally get two or three crits when i use palindrome anyway because its 2nd nature to aim for the head. Apparently explosive rounds mitigates the range fall off a little bit but gently caress trying to get a rifled, range finder, explosive in that archetype.

Can the rolls be different for range impact, etc between two of the same weapon, or is it only the perks/attack/elemental that are different?

Things I learned last night: 1) Getting invited along to Oryx Checkpoints a million times is not the same thing as running King's Fall all the way through, so I should not advertise my abilities to that extent in the future. 2) King's Fall isn't actually that bad, it just kinda drags in some cases; I realized a timing problem I had in the past with some runs was the leader/Sherpa getting distracted for hours re-explaining the mechanics every time something went wrong. The dude I ran with is a chill dude (Xzzy is also a chill dude) who does not do this, and his friends are competent and patient, and skilled enough to blitz through everything in like an hour and change despite a raidfuckup or two here, mostly me being uncertain. 3) I look good in the Darkhollow armor 4) Despite my attempts to take the public humiliation superego social bitch-role of "noob scrub" in this group, everyone dunked on the dude who invited me the entire time anyway. 5) I finally accept that I have a radio voice. So I'm sitting at 388 light and trying to break 390. Is it best for me to do archons forge and siva heroics? Does the siva heroic stuff even break that high? Got a day off with jack poo poo planned and I wanna run the 390 raid this weekend (and try and get into a Wrath group) so I figured I'd waste it loving around in this dumb bad game.

There's a big chart somewhere but yes, heroic strikes drop an endless stream of 390 blue gear by default and the chests go up to 400. You can also buy vendor stuff for any slots you're falling behind in. 388 should be more than enough for a raid if you're experienced, though.

Thanks! I've spent my fair share of time doing Crota with friends back when it was the main raid. I have zero experience with Wrath because it was brand new when I stopped playing so I plan to watch a video or two before trying to get into a group. Bigger issue nowadays is finding a group on say DestinyLFG for the 390 raids who don't want a minimum of 390+. So I figured I'd just eliminate the possible problem while I sit around today.
