skasion posted:It's already about as hard as I would expect a book that literally says it's trying to make you sympathetic to her point of view to be. It gets across that her point of view is batshit nuts, totally isolated from reality by entitlement, riches, and sycophants (there's a particularly memorable passage where she, baffled by Sanders and Trump's success, asks one of her aides, "what is everyone so angry about?") and that's why she confused the map for the territory and why she was such a deluded fool who ran without a reason and lost without enthusiasm. Even the authors can't resist the temptation to deflate her and her campaigns attempt to blame others for her loss and suggest that sometimes the problem is blindness to one's own problems. If you want to read a book that just straight up bashes Hitlery Cunton without any pretense of sympathy for her, there's practically a cottage industry of that since the 90s Yeah this is my take on the book.

Enough of your whiny laments about Hillary Clinton. You thought you knew Hillary when the primary campaign began. You knew the sound of her voice and her laughter and you made up your mind that those things bothered you. You thought the way she smiled — or when she chose not to — told you a lot about her, but your sneers told us more about you. You decided that a lifetime devoted to politics had ruined Hillary, even when the only alternatives on the ballot were a man mired in politics for 30 years who never got anything done and a man who knew nothing about anything who spent a lifetime devoted to fraud. I'm starting to believe the few die hard SS loyalists that fought to the end to defend the Führer's bunker were more objective about why they lost than hillary's people. Yeah I'm capitalizing "Führer" but not "hillary", because at least he knew what to do when you lose that badly.

Also on her "Hillary gracefully lost and supported obama" point: somewhere between 10 and 12 percent of Hillary supporters went Mccain (sources are inconsistant and might reflect some pre-election polling). Berniebros went for Trump 8%. Also, the earliest version of the idea that Barack Obama was foriegn and not-quite-american came from senior members of the hillary campaign. once you realize the DNC sees voters as empty vessels, impressionable minds succeptable to whatever is placed in front of them, the allegations of "tampering" become clearer. "Presenting facts counter to our narrative" (Ex: We rigged primary against Bernie and passed debate questions to Hillary) == "voter manipulation"

tbc I'm talking about the cultists super loving obsessed with Clinton and to this day yelling about Bernie bros and writing Harry Potter-reference-laden screeds about how she didn't fail, America failed her; not people who voted for her generally, who did so for all sorts of reasons (in the vast majority of cases, because they vote for the Democrat in every election regardless of who it is or what they say). The former tend to entirely ignore her actual policies, good or bad, and are real hazy about what they liked that she did while in power beyond that she was "qualified"
