So now the rear end in a top hat has a warrant out for his arrest. So basically I'm never getting back my money that I spent out of pocket to fix my car. gently caress people.

Speaking of, when looking for cars I was shocked to see the absolute nose dive the 2016 Mazda MX-5 took in re-sale value. New the dealer was asking $28k for a new GT. Yeah motor trend and others AFAIK are saying even the V6 Camaro can smoke an M2 now, and the V8 hangs with an M3/M4 no problem around a track. As to the small engine thing - yeah it's weird as hell that even crazy expensive cars have tiny little engines now, but I guess that's unavoidable with emissions standards and increases in efficiency. But it just feels weird that a $55,000 (and easily spec-able to 100k) Cayman is "only" an H4. The Ford GT being a V6 reminds me of how the Jag XJ220 was also only a V6 instead of it's planned V12, just seems odd it's not an 8 like all the other GT's. I just think, why not get a bonkers V8 while we still can, since it's unquestionably the end of the road for huge engines, and quite possibly ICE's in general. Along with fairly cheap gas, why not enjoy it before we are all in self driving electric/hydrogen cars?

Muscle cars have just never been on my list of vehicles to keep track of simply because for the past 6-7 years I've been essentially required to have a car that you can stuff tons of poo poo in for my job. The last time muscle cars had my interest was probably in high school when the 5.0 mustang was king of poo poo hill. Kinda wish GM would sell some small performance variant vehicles in the US. Think they have a few rolling around Europe under the Opel/Vauxhall brand at least. May have to just learn to deal with the visibility issues and get a Camaro SS 1LE at some point; they're pretty amazing for the price.

You can fit a decent amount into a Mini with the rear seats folded down actually. Shape is kinda boxy and that maybe maximizes usable interior space- kinda like a teeeeny Scion xB/Honda Element? I also think they've finally given up and moved the speedo out of the center console and in front of the driver. Hard to recommend unless you're in love with the styling as there are better things out there for less money but they aren't bad. Have no clue on the longevity and maintenance of the current models, though.

I have no concerns for reliability since I am leasing whatever I get, if I was buying it to keep long term I wouldn't even remotely consider a mini. My friend had a first gen cooper works and it was an absolute disaster, just never functioned 100%. I'm sure its better now but im just not going to get a used bmw after my e46 and its insane cooling system debacles. I do really wish I could get a 1 series hatch, they were everywhere in Europe, every single one was a stick and I was so jealous.

Anyone ever put Michelin Pilot Super Sports on the Fiesta ST stock wheels? Stock tire size is 205/40/17 and the Pilot SS's are 215/45/17. People on the FiST Forums say they fit without rubbing, but a lot of people on those forums are retarded. Also, does anyone have any experience with Pirelli P Zero Neros? They seem to have about the same performance as the Bridgestone Potenzas the Fist comes with, but with a slightly better treadwear rating and lower price tag.

IIRC that's what Smoking Tire were running on theirs, and I they said they had rub at the extremes but not anything you'd notice in most situations. That's my current plan B if I decide not to buy a set of 16" wheels and Potenza RE-71s

Traditionally it was the forced induction Minis that had all the problems (especially the first gen R56), but they're all turbocharged now so... I absolutely love my 1 Series, mine isn't exactly a hot hatch but I'd say definitely qualifies as a warm hatch. You know you could go with a 2 Series? It's not a hatchback but it's literally the exact same car apart from the rear end.

I'm still considering a base 230i, really like the look and size. If i can find a cheap lease I'll snag one, but they again seem fairly overpriced if you factor in raw performance, and a base 2 is pretty spartan.
