I went to my first ever music festival over the summer this year. It was the first festival that this group had ever organised. It was underprepared due to not having an emergency second option when the food trucks pulled out at the last minute, it was held in a paddock in the wilderness almost an hour from the nearest town, the stage was partially assembled from stolen power poles, no-one made it clear enough in the advertising that this wasn't an event for kids, and during the event one guy wandered off, fell off a cliff and broke both arms. The bands rocked, the music was amazing, the scenery was stunning, it was multiple orders of magnitude more competent than Fyre, and it cost sixty bucks to attend.

There's a few other good clips on that car crash video, like the clip at 7:24 where they notice a crashed bus on the other side of the highway and then a little further on they find two people lying on the road in front of them where they'd been catapulted through the bus' windscreen and across the concrete divider

The extent to which people will keep saying 'gosh, the actions of these folk were wholly inexplicable, who could be that inept, and aren't they worried about being sued?' when faced with a band of obvious conmen never ceases to amaze. Every dollar those guys took is now in bitcoin, but it will be very useful if people keep painting them as fools who were in over their heads. I sincerely doubt this man gives a toss what people think of him: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/fyre-fest-head-billy-mcfarland-we-were-a-little-naive-w479502 Some of the people Now he's doing the 'gosh we were naive' thing, and 'refunds are being processed'. His mugs also get the offer of a much much better festival in 2018. I'm wondering how long he can keep the plates spinning. It's kind of fascinating to watch someone apologise when you know he feels no responsibility whatsoever.
