I didn't really notice what was going on behind the Mercs and Ferraris, but Ricciardo 2 tenths up on Verstappen, and old man Massa showing he's still got some speed in him when he's got a mind to. Looking good all round. loving  that gap from Merc to Red Bull though.

Part of me wonders if he realized midway last year that "... poo poo, I have competition now". I mean yeah, him backing Nico in was a dick move but for the fans it made the race that much more interesting.

If Lewis gets bored towards the end of the season if it becomes clear he isn't going to be WDC, then maybe, but Russia has always been good to Bottas. I think Massa is getting to much credit and the Williams is actually a decent car. Stroll is just so bad its making Massa look good. Felipe was terrible last year especially through the back half of the season.

I think the last time GP2 went to Sochi, there was the customary pileup and then the marshals took about a million hours to clean up so the race finished long after the sun had set. Might've also been GP3, but I definitely remember that kind of thing happening in Russia.
