If A.E. van Vogt has an estate, part of the Alien movies should go to him in the same way Cameron has to shell out to Harlan Ellison. It's only fair. And Ridley Scott is a good director, but I'm pretty sure he's peaked.

It was genuinely creepy and unsettling, did some visually cool stuff, had some good performances and was brave and smart enough to leave things unanswered and go for existential dread rather than throwing a bunch of new xenomorphs on the screen. The film gets a lot of unfair hate. The characters suck though except for maybe David.

Why were the huge alien humanoids in Prometheus so waxy and translucent?? Also the auto cesarean scene scarred me for life. There's no way the next movie can suck worse so I'm looking forward to it.

Lost was so loving whack. It was right around season 3 when I said "gently caress it I'm out". It was totally worth it to stop watching because I heard it just kept going with the same formula all the way up to the lovely ending.
