I think trahearne should replace the first NPC that each new player character interacts with regardless of race. As soon as my new norn said "This is my story" and loaded in, he should have been right there. taking him behind the shed owned

Been playing through The Trahearne Saga again levelling up characters and still can't fathom what made Anet think he was a good idea. I have found a few things that help deal with him, though: - Have your character get drunk and dance on a table (doing this irl probably helps too). Bonus if he's giving a speech at the time. - During the vision quest bit, run on ahead and stand patiently at your target while he ambles behind talking to himself. - Come up with charming epithets with which to herald him with chat bubbles. I'm quite fond of "Soggy Teabag" and "Bendy Twiglet".

After running through it a third time i realized the real reason i hate it is that during the missions where you escort him you can't just run ahead and trigger the next scene. you have to take him by his hand and walk his coward rear end to the next checkpoint so he can continue to be the most important person in the story. He was actually sorta chill outside that but talked way too much. kiffkin posted:

It still amuses me that they felt the need to remove the human female bored idle animations (and still haven't returned them) because they felt making the appropriate yawning response to their cinematics would be somehow wrong.

The charr light and heavy armors looked pretty good. I noticed they also used a different color scheme than the other races, so maybe the other light and heavy armors would be okay if they didn't use black and white. There's nothing that's going to make that medium helmet or any of the asura armors look good. Picking anime rats with the stupidest loving faces couldn't have helped, though.

Sylvari don't actually give a poo poo about nature. They're trees in the same way as humans are animals. There's an order of whispers mission where you pretend to be ~~~nature spirits~~~ in order to trick some centaurs into getting themselves killed to set up a diversion so you can kill a dude. I love sylvari.

That story mission was great, if only because the first time I did it was on my engineer and you could use your kits instead of Caladbolg so you didn't need to suck so bad; and then the second time was on my revenant and it stopped me using any utility skills at all cause the game remembers and it hates you

Just thinking out loud here: I used to think that fighting skills being tied to the weapon was a cool idea mostly because it was novel. It would be more work but I wish you could set up your skills however you wanted (with them being divided between melee and projectile) and have the weapons dictate the utility skills. Maybe it would come out as being about the same as this system, I don't know, but maybe I want to dual wield maces and use every spin attack that I can.
