I must have more, I don't care if they are real or not I'm dying here. Reminded me of the apocryphal production of Anne Frank where the actress playing Anne (I heard it as Pia Zadora) is so bad that when the Nazis showed up the audience yelled, "She's in the attic!"

High school drama club never had these wacky moments on actual show nights, which makes me feel like I missed out. I do know that during an older performance of Grease during the pantsing scene, the actor ended up having his pants and underwear pulled down, but I don't recall if that was rehearsal in front of an audience.

There was one rehearsal close to opening night for Much Ado About Nothing where two of the actors decided to come out for their scene with me wearing very small, brightly colored shorts and tank tops and pretending that they were in the middle of a jog the entire time.

There's actually some books called Great Operatic Disasters and Even Greater Operatic Disasters by Hugh Vickers which has hundreds of similar stories from professional opera companies

I was Seymour in my high school's production of Little Shop.

There is a scene where Seymour starts getting frantic and Audrey has to slap him to get him to regain his composure. I always had trouble keeping the anxiety up while remembering my lines in this scene.

On opening night, I got so worked up and couldn't remember so I rambled for a good minute longer than the scene was supposed to. My friend and cast mate playing Audrey noticed I was just rambling and proceeded to wind up her slap.

Unfortunately I got scared because of loving up the line and forgot the slap was coming, so I flinched like a huge pussy, and ended up getting completely laid out by a miss aimed karate chop to my neck.

The entire audience cringed, so I guess it was pretty convincing.

I was at a "Play In The Park" production of the Arthurian legends once, and for the scene where Arthur draws Excalibur from the stone, they had forgotten to replace Excalibur from the previous night, so it was just a big rock. They quickly improvised that it was a mystical, invisible sword that only the worth were able to see, and poor Arthur had to pretend to pull an invisible sword from the stone and wave it around until another cast member could get close enough to pass him the real prop.
