America has a problem with women being emotional. A male politician can cry like a bitch all the time and still be taken seriously, but if a woman cries, that's a clear sign that she's not tough enough to play with the big boys. And if she raises her voice, she becomes a shrieking harridan instead of an inspirational leader.

liberal hyper-pc culture is annoying because it genuinely takes a lot of time to understand and develop ideas about political ideology and the specific implementation of differing philosophies of socialism into public policies and strategies, but any loving moron on twitter with a brain cell and a half can be the bad word police and fart out a trillion words about why they think people shouldn't say retard.

I think reactions to their language are entirely overblown exactly because it takes 0 brainpower to create the argument of "word bad"

you'd think the ease with which you can argue that "word bad" would mean those arguments have some validity

It's more weird twitter than FYAD. Most of the good FYAD posters left for weird twitter and that explains the overlap.

I've been told by someone i'm pretty sure is neurotypical that i don't have the privilege to use the word "sperg" because if i'm okay with it it's ACTUALLY because i've internalized neuronormativity or whatever it's basically all fart noises

look i laugh when felix makes the jokes about barron being soothed by small mechanisms, or the train/elevator jokes

I don't think any of these guys have an organic issue. This is just the result that posting has on the brain. Think how different it is than an actual conversation. You make a post aimed at no body in particular, maybe a forum of pseudonyms you've never met before. There are no real consequences for breaking norms, not the same feedback of reply and emotion you'd see in the body and face of someone you talk to in person.

Because they care or "care" about upsetting people, so they're not going to advocate for, say, defanging the AMA, because it would upset the doctors and they're not going to criticize Hillary's campaign, because it would upset all of her hard working volunteers

Nah I do know quite a bunch who do consider that to be messed up and do agree on everything else. There's this odd trend for a while where for some reason chapo fans screamed at acquaintances of the chapo crew for stuff like this, even if Felix et al agreed on it. Then again, i do recall murderbryan being somewhat saddened when a few fans kept calling street fight radio "Chapo for stupid people".

one of the long-running weird/left twitter pet peeves has been that you can get banned for calling someone retarded or whatever, but at the same time largely twitter will do nothing if you put white power symbolism in your avi/banner, talk about how blacks/jews are inferior and should be enslaved or killed, women are the inferior gender, doxx atheists in Saudi, etc. It's kind of the same thing behind being "dirtbag" or, for example, the duck hunts in early episodes. The "discourse" is worthless when the namecalling is penalized but not the bigotry/hate speech; what really ruins people's lives and damages society goes unpunished

I don't think they should say "retarded" on the show, ultimately, but I think I understand why there's been a long learning curve

but that's a mischaracterisation of an argument in order to make it seem invalid, I would not consider myself a liberal at all, probably a fairly garden variety democratic socialist, and I consider those sorts of offensive terms like retard to be unnecessary and comes off as punching down, yet I continue to listen to the pod because I enjoy it and don't like that get in the way because I agree with them more than disagree

there is validity to the argument that they should probably cut that poo poo out
